Plus, nowadays many are offering some paid "services" without being prostitutes and they will be gone if it's legalized so there will also be less choice/competition. I'd say every "legal" thing sucks... |

Then they will sky rocket their high risk occupation in its coverage cost. Jail them if they do not comply. Hopefully only in America but who knows maybe the ACA will spread globally. The most precious things are the simple things in life, always present in the simplest of minds. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 43115023 United States 01/19/2014 12:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good point. The highest priced prostitutes are at places like the Bunny Ranch in Nevada. Yeah but that's because it's not legal anywhere else so they can charge a premium for the legal protection. It's similar to how cable companies all charge near the same price for similar products. Instead of lowering prices and pushing some competition out they decided to all eat and eat well. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2482665 [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] Doesn't matter whether it's legal or not. Poverty determines the price. In parts of Kentucky, you can buy a woman for the price of a case of pop. |

samanthasunflower User ID: 37056712 United States 01/19/2014 10:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | With legalized Prostitution, there will be a lot more government regulations and taxes. First the prostitute has to have a license and receive training. The training will have nothing to do with how to be a good prostitute of course. It will be all about STD's, not refusing her/his services to anyone, and about filling out government forms. Then the prostitute has to have a permit for her/his place of work and get inspections. Then the prostitute has to fill out paperwork for each sexual act, pay a tax, and visit the government approved health clinic on a weekly/monthly basis. Then of course there is the issue of not being allowed to refuse business to anyone based in their sexual preference. So if the prostitute is male or female, they cannot turn away a man wanting anal sex. They also can't turn away an ugly and smelly creature who hasn't bathed in years or someone who wants them to do sexual acts they aren't comfortable with. With legalization, the government would make life hell for prostitutes. |

There is a significant amount of prostitutes coming to Germany from the south east countries of Europe. This leads to a growth on the offer side, whereas the demand remains constant or just slightly grows. Result if this is a drop in prices, but I heard that there is a certain bottom line for the prices as there is an agreement between the prostitution market oligarchs. |

Currently, there is a movement of prostitutes also from Italy, Spain and Greece to Germany. Additionally, there is a sort of sex tourism of clients from France and other countries to Germany. The situation is: There are highly educated prostitutes (multilingual, university degrees) and many horny men, and all of this brings lots of taxes to the German economic budget. You even could refer to Germany as the biggest whorehouse, after Thailand, on this planet. I am not very happy about this as it is a waste of potential and it is not really good for the reputation of Germany. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53178684 Actually, you're wrong. It isn't the way societies are torn apart. Prostitution is the oldest profession. Why? Because men are needy no matter what they claim to say they do or don't believe. There are very good men who would never employ for pay sex, but there are a good number of men who profit from it in more ways than just money. Nope. I don't approve, but it's not my call. I fight it by not partaking in it or creating a need for it. Anonymous Coward User ID: 21903530 Canada 01/20/2014 08:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No. Much of the prostitution in Canada is fuelled by drug addiction. The price of a blowjob generally equals the price of one hit of that locale's drug of choice,(meth or crack). If Canada were to legalise prostitution and at the same time decriminalise drug addictions on the Dutch or British model, the supply of local addicts would shrink. Given legal subsidised heroin prescriptions, most junky prostitutes will seek and be able to hold safer less demeaning jobs. This has been the British and Dutch experience. If Canada follows the Swedish model and legalises prostitution while criminalising their "customers" the price goes up. Johns will need to have a working iphone/cell phone camera and film their acts in order to claim that they are employing her in a legal pornogaphy shoot. |

The mafia oligarchs running prostitution industry are also the ones running drug industry. They will, of course, also stabilize drug markets. As the demand generated by prostitutes will grow and as the amount of money on this demand side will increase, drug prices will go up. Criminalisation of clients reduces demand for prostitution services, so there is a tendency of growing prices. |
