It may be self serving, but as a Christian, I think of it like this: Christ didn't fight back, or let his apostles fight back, because he HAD to die to fulfill his role as Redeemer. If he/they fought back, and he didn't die on the cross and resurrect....well, then there was no point in him coming.

The rest of us though, are of course, not Christ, and we don't have to die. We're not saving the world if we do. In fact, if we can fight evil especially when it attacks us and the weak and helpless, then we WOULD be saving some part of the world.

Lifetime unemployment needs to be cut off. That will inspire some ingenuity and that will create jobs. That's what this country was built on. Self employment.

Yes, some of it is being caused by government intervention (tases, regulations, 0bamacare), but a lot of it is systemic. In our greed and haste as a society, we priced ourselves out of manifacturing, and it went elsewhere. With a few exceptions, 5hose jobs won't be coming back. We're goig to have to be innovators once again, get a running start on the next few big thigs, and grow there. That won't happen unless the government and the market manipulators get out of the way... which this aministration will never do.

Theres no quick or easy fixes.. were startig from scratch in many ways.

This is sad but true. It isn't getting better, it's gotten worse. I wouldn't point fingers at Obama though. This is a global crisis. How the hell could this have happened anyway?

If jobs are replaced, with automation.

That also means a lot less people with jobs = less money = less people buying from the companies, that are using automation.

It doesn't do a company any good, to produce millions of products, in which nobody can buy, since they don't have jobs.

More jobs would be created with changes in Washington, no argument with that.
But, for the doom and gloom folks here's some truth in numbers that you need to "let in" to your overall view to protect yourself from letting your a negative outlook determine your fate.
- There's been eight recessions since 1960, a recession every 6.5 years on average.
- After horrible job losses in 09' - 2010 the # of net new jobs has increased every month since October, 2010. 39 months straight, averaging about 100,000 new jobs/month during that period. The month of December was a poor one for growth with only 75k new jobs. Have to see if that is a one-off or start of a trend.
- The unemployment rate in late 2009 peaked at 10%. In January, 2014 unemployment is 7.7%, a 23% reduction since the peak. Granted many in both categories have left the job pool, but this is still moving in the right direction.
- Unemployment rate of college graduates vs. only high school: 4% vs. 8%. If it takes 8 years and you major in basket weaving the math speaks for itself.
- U.S. crude oil production in January crossed the 8 million barrel/day mark, the highest level in 25 years. We produced more oil than we imported for the first time. Foreign oil imports are at a 17 year low. The shale revolution is incredible. But we need more refineries. Oil companies are petitioning to actually export excess crude oil, it is literally piling up.

Because evil and aspiring men took the highest seats in governments around the world, funded by the evils of corporatism who hold the leashes and pay the bribes to destroy economic and social freedom in the name of greater profits.

In a word, FASCISM happened. It was sold as "socialism" but the package was intentionally mis-labeled by the manufacturer.
