Filing a trademark does not mean the trademark is approved or issued.

A "Word in common use" cannot be trademarked. A "Word in common use" in association with other words can, but only as it relates to the Mark, product or "brand".

idiots try to file marks for many things, and they are almost always summarily denied on the first go-round. Why people spend the money to file these things is beyond me.
