Yesterday I got into a racial argument with a famous black musician on facebook

I'd venture to say in almost all cases that is true.

To the poster that is revealing in each successive post that he is resorting to "racism", I'd love to have the opportunity to be pulled over, but you see, I am unemployed, my car broke and no money to fix it, or I'd be living in my car instead of on a slab of tile. I am being rejected for jobs because I'm not of a "preferred group" or I am not a native Spanish speaker. (need to speak Spanish well for all those who come here that only speak Spanish, but it doesn't matter how well the job seeker speaks English)?

As another poster already pointed out, African slavery was only the most recent large-scale slavery-for-economic-building episode in recent history because America is the most recent country to rise to economic power.

In many areas of the world slavery is still going on.

I try to stay out of this subject, but think about it. Look at today's African's whose ancestors were not enslaved. They are still largely living in tribal situations and poverty and cowshit huts all over Africa. The education system in Africa is abominable. No healthcare. Diseases run rampant. Slavery STILL exists in many areas, and these are Africans owned by other Africans.

African Americans that are born and raised in America have opportunities that most Africans will never get.

Because their ancestors were brought over here as slaves, their decedents have better opportunities than they ever could have imagined.

Many white people were brought here as virtual slaves, too. Do you think indentured servitude was really any better than slavery?

Granted some indentured servants made the choice to come over, but many many more were sent to pay off debts, because their parents or husbands or guardians chose for them or bartered them away.

The sad reality is that the vast majority of people on this planet are still slaves. They were born slaves and they will die slaves.

They may think they are free, but there are many different types of chains.

The people in the US, for example, are some of the most hopelessly enslaved - because they believe themselves to be free.

The reality of the situation is that American history as we have been taught is a lie. The Revolutionary war never freed us from the British crown. We are still owned by the same elite families that owned our surf ancestors. They sent us over here to civilize and cultivate their new world, they enslaved us with the FED after we were no longer indentured, and now that our population has become too great, they will cull us like any population that has outgrown and overgrown its usefulness.

To say that white people owe black people something because our ancestors owned your ancestors is ludicrous. Most white people did not get rich off of the backs of black slaves. A select few did. And they used that wealth to keep the rest of us enslaved.

The thing about history is that people can learn from it. If you believe that whites can enslave the blacks of America again, you are sadly mistaken. There would be civil war. & although whites are the majority here, they are the minority of this planet. A planet where they now have more enemies than true friends. The divide that would be created in this country,amongst all the races(there are whites that would war against the slavery of blacks as history has shown), if there was an attempt to re-establish slavery would destabilize this country leaving it vulnerable to our numerous foes around the world. Please, take off your racist-skin-colored glasses. The only slaves today in America are the taxpayers, all skin-colored taxpayers. Perhaps we could all unite against the increasing tyranny of the Federal Govt.? My kids, your kids, are ALL going to be responsible for this mess that they haven't created.
