Unfortunately family eats like crap, and currently I have no one to share this recipe with, as I am not seeing clients these days. The last 2 mornings I made this smoothie, after experimenting with the carrot juice and coconut theme for about a week now. I couldn't believe how good it tasted, and how balanced I felt immediately after and for hours after as well. Coconut fat is truly unique and amazing, the body immediately uses it as an even burning fuel source, and it also helps to enhance the transport of Omega 3 fats to their destination. Not to mention it tastes awesome. It perfectly replaces banana in a smoothie, especially with the milled flaxseed and the various added powders. |

Normally Turmeric is a little bitter, but couldn't even tell it was there. But my body will. also added a little "Coconut Manna" This is a product from NUTIVA. It is an organic coconut butter, meaning it has a great deal of pulp mixed in with pure oil and a little cream. The stuff is awesome plain by the spoonful, and adds extra consistency to the smoothie. This base recipe is a keeper. |

Quoting: viraja I have basically improved and evolved my recipe for optimal and overall effect, taste, short term energy boost, long term energy, comprehensive macro and micro nutrients, good fats, proteins and carbs. etc. I make sure that no matter what I eat the rest of the day, my needs are covered with my morning smoothie. I wanted to share the latest evolution with my GLP friends. Make all ingredients ORGANIC if you can. 1. Carrot Apple Ginger juice. 8 oz You can use a regular juicer to get the juice from whole carrots, apples, and ginger root. Otherwise use a high speed blender to blend 2 large carrots chopped into pieces and one inch fresh ginger, into 4 oz water plus 4 oz org. apple juice. Then press the wet pulp with a large flat spoon through a screen sieve or colander and catch the juice. 2. Put juice into blender. 3. Add the following 1/3 cup coconut cream. Native Forest brand is best. 2 TBSP Raw uncooked honey 1 tsp Bee pollen 2 TBSP cold milled Flax seed. 2 TBSP whole milk yogurt 1 or 2 tsp cinnamon (true ceylon is best) 2-3 TBSP of your favorite mixed green superfood powder. 3 TBSP pure WHEY pwd. 4. Blend. You can get creative and add custom items to this. I usually add 5-7 drops 2% Lugol's iodine Brahmi (regenerates neurons in brain) Shilajit (look it up, amazing stuff) Vegetarian Omega 3 DHA/EPA oil. American Ginseng powder You could take on a triathalon on one of these, and the vitamins, minerals and long term health benefits would surprise you. Enjoy. Sounds Awesome...I've been wanting to get a smoothie Blender and start doing this... Thanks for the awesome recipe! Green for you! "The Tree of Liberty is Thirsty and needs Watering" -Me |

Sounds Awesome...I've been wanting to get a smoothie Blender and start doing this... Thanks for the awesome recipe! Green for you! Tbanks! the pleasure is mine. I recently acquired the "Nutribullet" blender. 600W motor and a sick 6 direction blade. It is the best blender I have owned. I haven't had a juicer in years, but this baby is so powerful that it shreds carrots/beets/etc into a puree that can be strained to make perfect juice. It is also good for making mixed berry smoothies, just add a little water, some raw honey and your favorite greens like spinach or beet greens, it is amazing at how fine a puree this thing can make. I need to quit coffee, so I am going to start adding guarana powder next to wean myself of caffeine. |
