Regulating Bitcoin: The Shitstorm is Coming!
On Sunday, two prominent members of the Bitcoin community were arrested on charges of money laundering. More specifically, they were charged with laundering money from the infamous Silk Road – the black-market website where all manner of illegal drugs were sold; including cannabis, cocaine, crack, etc.

Then, on Tuesday, there was an informal Bitcoin hearing in New York conducted by Benjamin Lawsky, superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services. The purpose of the hearing was to debate how Bitcoin should be effectively regulated. Here’s a quote from that meeting: “Tweaks around the edges are not enough,” Mr. Lawsky said between panels, suggesting the department would come up with something within several months. He has been talking about developing something he’s calling a “bitlicense” for firms that want to operate as bitcoin brokers or exchanges.

Now, here’s where the shit-storm will kick in. Bitcoin has been designed from the ground-up for government and bank independence. Soon, you’ll be able to live your life free of governments snooping on what you do with your money. There will be no excessive bank charges or hidden fees, anyone and everyone can have a free, secure and anonymous wallet without interference from authorities.

Bitcoin will and is undermining the business models of Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and big banks. These large companies will not go down without a fight, expect them to put immense pressure on governments to highly regulate, undermine and perhaps even ban Bitcoin.

The shitstorm is coming... mark my words!

Regulating Bitcoin like they do the dollar is near impossible without modifying the open-source wallet. And they will never get away with that... Visa, Banks, etc, are truly in for shock this year!

Millions are being pumped into Bitcoin start-ups that will radically change the way we do business!

Nope!

If you don't know a user's Bitcoin ID, it cannot be traced to any individual.

And, think about it, you can move Bitcoin to a new wallet with a new ID... or ever split the coins into multiple wallets!

Most people don't get the power of Bitcoin! You can effectively create as many anonymous wallets as you like and move your coins ANYWHERE.

Regulating Bitcoin like they do the dollar is near impossible without modifying the open-source wallet. And they will never get away with that... Visa, Banks, etc, are truly in for shock this year!

You miss the point, knowing a Bitcoin ID does not mean a thing. You can use as many as you like.

If your computer is compromised, then potentially yes. But we are moving into a new era of security and anonymity, watch out for the products due to be released this year.

We are moving towards a digital age, if you want to stick your dollars in the ground, so be it. But it's not practical for people who run businesses.

to prevent hacking, here's something that can be done.

Encrypt your wallet and burn it wallet to CD/DVD, then delete the original wallet on the hard drive.

Bitcoin is so high right now that its not worth investing in..

There are many,many digital currencies floating about,take dogecoin now that looks tasty but even then you never know...

soon all these digital currencies will be united and merged in to one global controlled monetary system,watch and see my friend! the pattern of commerce is globalisation this is the name of the game....

And here's an idea for you.

1. Encrypt your wallet;
2. Burn it to a CD;
3. Delete original wallet;
4. Bury CD in back garden for safe keeping!

Safe as houses!
