Thanks for sharing Quoting: Bogan Bread 53570455 So you can only do this with a transparent sphere type object? I know that it can be done with a transparent water bottle. Haven't seen this particular vid & marked it for later. I'm a proud Texan & American, posting from Central Texas & have no clue why my flag shows friggin Canada(no offense to my Canadian friends). Thanks for sharing Quoting: Bogan Bread 53570455 So you can only do this with a transparent sphere type object? I think the shape of the object helps with the effect of magnitude of the light but I'm sure it can be done with other shaped objects but I would have thought that a sphere shape is genuinely a good way to go |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 53622953 United Kingdom 01/30/2014 12:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can anyone remember the fake video about using an orange to make fire ? here's the solution admittedly useless as a short term solution but good for a long term use... With the first day of Fall just around the corner, there are some parts of the country that have seen rather low nighttime temperatures. We're always ready to bid Summer farewell and welcome Fall (and all that goes with it) with open arms. Time to light the first fire in the fireplace? If so, turn to citrus peels instead of kindling!Although you'll probably need a little supplemental help from another source, orange peels are perfect fire starters! The oil in the skin fuels the fires and in the process they release less creosote than traditional paper. It will keep your chimneys cleaner in the process and leave your home smelling like roasted oranges — take that Febreze! [link to www.apartmenttherapy.com] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 53622953 United Kingdom 01/30/2014 01:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Gee a magnifying glass or a pair of eyeglasses are so much more effective at this and easier to transport. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43524570 PS: If the suns behind the clouds then good luck using any of these methods. A Zippo lighter and fluid when SHTF- priceless... I agree its a matter of inconvenience but none the less its handy for people to know other methods I mean what you going to when your flint goes or your wick frays ? Also no matter how wet rubber gets it still burns Not relevant to the above I know |
