I think you have been watching too much of the Matrix. I actually just watched the trilogy for the first time over the last few days. Weird... pretty good but weird and a bit confusing.

OK I have to comment on OP's comment that color used to be more saturated.

This is spot on.

Another thing worth noticing is the fact that the sky is never that deep, beautiful blue that is used to be. Its always "off" or "washed out" or grey/blue.

The sun is definitely more white than it ever was, it used to be yellow. It used to be "warming" on the skin, like a slow vibrating that caused happiness. Now it is so hot on the skin, you can feel it really burning you, and can tend to aggravate you when you're out in it.

I do find it weird that the surrounds's saturation, sky color, and sun color have all changed recently, (>20 years ago) and now its a bit more depressing

This is where my matrix shift happened, I remember that New Years Eve EXTREMELY vividly. I remember you couldn't go anywhere, listen to anything, watching anything, or do anything without hearing this song on New Years Eve. Actually I remember waking up the next day Jan 1, 2000 and things were notably already "off" .... I remember people really were partying like "well, reality was fun while it lasted..."

Interestingly , Mckenna died in 2000 and we haven't quite got another one ... I have a feeling he is alive and well in REALITY ...

I've always thought that McKenna broke too much of his own reality, and that's what killed him, if that makes sense. Like he was one more trip away from breaking on through to the other side, so reality killed him.

I do not think we've shifted dimensions or are stuffed into pods providing energy to robot aliens. I do not think reality is "simulated."

But for sure, 1999 was about the last "real" year, and the turning point (in addition to those already mentioned) this was the year "The Phantom Menace" came out.

I think that movie served to really traumatize the minds of millions of people en masse. So much hope and anticipation in a franchise that is globally huge and then...thud. It's really the first time they took something sacred and ruined it...made it soulless and I think it was an echo of what was going on in society.

When 1999 passed without incident, we all collectively said "Ok, we're still here, now what???" and none of us really knew.

Maybe there was a rapture, but not of bodies but souls. Maybe the souls that belonged to God left, and the bodies that remain are on auto-pilot.

IMO, what happened is this.

If you listen to the JFK speech on secret societies you realize that he knew this reality was about to split. Not in any kind of unreal way, but simply these people (less than 1%) started having and continue living a different reality than the rest of us that are not part of the clique. There is different technology that they possess and it only trickles down to us, the 99.9999%, of humans alive today. The tech they have allowed us to posses is limited. They have stifled our emotional and spiritual processes, and have dumbed down our intelligence with lies. Lies lies lies. No real original idea can come out from any of us in this condition. All is stifled. As the lies have been processed as truths, our condition deteriorates at more rapid speeds. The progress which we were destined to make through our changing DNA, our spiritual awakening, etc. has been dwarfed and can actually be experienced by a very few of us that are awake .. and that is even experienced in a limited way.

Something really weird happened to me around then, I looked in the mirror and suddenly I had a lot of freckles. I would of been 17 at the time. I looked in the mirror daily, as you do at 17, but never saw them before that day. It was October, so it couldn't have been the Sun doing it. Besides you don't really get new freckles after about 13 anyway.

Trust me I looked in the mirror all the time back then, gelling my hair etc, and shaving. I would of notice them before.

Your post brings to mind the old sci fi movie ZARDOZ. I recommend it. In the story, humanity is divided into an elite class and a warrior class. The warriors are kept ignorant and fighting. They don't even know about the elites. One of the warriors finds out and becomes something like a conspiracy theorist, wakes up and starts looking for the truth behind all the lies. He is played by Sean Connery, who runs around the whole movie in little red warrior hot pants. LOL

This movie was kinda Matrixy before the Matrix. It's very entertaining but so full of symbolism and convoluted story that I had to watch it twice.
