On the other hand, that lady is 81 years old. She does not deserve to be in jail. Jail is a bad place. She's too old for that shite and probably channeling her anger at things in her life into feeding animals.
She deserves respect and to be talked to like a human being.
Why didn't they call her relatives and release her to them.

Or take her to the Crisis Center or something and mandate counseling for her. Don't put her in jail, it will teach her to hate.

She probably is pissed off she can't pay her bills and meds and eat decently and yadda yadda.
She just is basically stating she likes animals better than the people that make her pay 1200.00 a month for prescriptions and don't raise her social security check or who took away her retirement pension.

I understand your sentiments but if you are on judge ordered probation and you threaten the Cops mandated to check on you like old Bessie here, you are gonna wear some jail pajamas.

Why is everyone missing the point she was on probation?

Private property or no with all the many, many cop stories we are seeing these days with unreasonable escalation I think a verbal threat is a serious risk to your own life don't you agree?

Listen honestly with the way things are going I would take anyone's threat to kill me seriously - especially in Florida which is where I live. Since I do reside down here I probably feel less compassion for the old folks. Old age does not equal automatic innocence, sweetness and light.

But authorities say she had been warned before. Last November, Fish and Wildlife officers had to euthanize a bear she had been feeding. A judge gave her probation, and made it clear: do it again, and go to jail.

Yeah... I see your point here. I really don't know anything about dealing with the law or that probation thing. I don't really understand how all of that stuff works. I've never even had a speeding ticket so I'm pretty police procedure stupid in that regard.

here is the same story in the local paper here in ft laud and it says she was feeding the bear dog food and lots of it and if you haven't seen a pic of this 'grandma' take a look....LOL

Didn't have anything to do with the fact she'd been caught feeding black bear and was ordered not to and then was leaving food out for the bear again putting all her neighbors in direct danger by desensitizing the bear of it's natural fear of humans which would cause the bear to integrate humman territory into it's own potentially causing it to come back to her or her neighbors house searching for food where it was fed would it ?

here in fl it is also against the law to feed a gator...500 fine and sixty days in jail cause if ya feed a gator they lose their fear of humans and eventually they will get somebody.
