The former Port Authority official who personally oversaw the lane closings on the George Washington Bridge in the scandal now swirling around Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey said on Friday that the governor knew about the lane closings when they were happening, and that he had the evidence to prove it.

In a letter released by his lawyer, the official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christie’s who was appointed with the governor’s blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago.

While I don't want him to run for Prez. I hope he stays in NJ. The last thing we need right now is another John Corzine type scumbag liberal. If not for Christie we would have even more new gun control laws then they just passed. And it would've been bad.

Well, I'm glad this might mean he won't be able to run... um... waddle for president in 2016 because is part of what is wrong with the Republican Party.

That said, it is telling that the media can't bring itself to ask one person in the United States who followed, watched, and has everything in his life documented 24/7 what he knew and when he knew it. Obama gets to tell the press, "I don't know" or "I wasn't involved" and the press moves on to questions about his favorite basketball team. Let anyone with an (R) after their name do something stupid and you better bet the press will find out everything they knew and when they knew it and plaster wall to wall coverage of the political slaughter all over the place.
