The implications in your post, if I understand correctly, are: The gov.has been in contact with extraterrestrials and trying to cover it up with varying success for 60 years. The Aliens don't believe in a supreme being, so though the gov. wants to 'disclose' the contact, etc, they hesitate for fear that the result of "loss of cherished beliefs" will be".ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE IN NUMEROUS COUNTRIES"

False Religion
. . .

MEDDLES IN WAR AND POLITICS: “Across Asia and beyond,” says the journal Asiaweek, “power-hungry leaders are cynically manipulating people’s religious sentiments for their own needs.” As a result, the journal warns: “The world threatens to sink into madness.” A prominent religious leader in the United States declared: “You’ve got to kill the terrorists before the killing stops.” His solution? “Blow them all away in the name of the Lord.” By contrast, the Bible says: “If anyone makes the statement: ‘I love God,’ and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar.” (1 John 4:20) Jesus even said: “Continue to love your enemies.” (Matthew 5:44) How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war?

SPREADS FALSE DOCTRINE: Most religions teach that the soul or spirit is some invisible part of a human that survives the death of the physical body. By means of this teaching, many of these religions exploit their members, charging money to pray for departed souls. However, the Bible teaches a different doctrine. “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected—an unnecessary action if humans had an immortal soul. (John 11:11-25) Does your religion teach that the soul does not die?

TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX
: In Western lands, church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy and urge governments to recognize same-sex marriages. Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Do you know of religions that condone immoral sex?

What does the future hold for religions that produce rotten fruit? Jesus warned: “Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Matthew 7:19) Yes, false religion will be chopped down and destroyed! But how and when will this happen? A prophetic vision recorded in the Bible book of Revelation, chapters 17 and 18, provides the answer.

How Will False Religion End?

Picture the scene. A harlot is sitting on the back of a fearsome beast. The beast has seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:1-4) Whom does the harlot represent? She exerts influence “over the kings of the earth.” She dresses in purple, uses incense, and is exceedingly wealthy. In addition, by means of her spiritistic practice, ‘all the nations are misled.’ (Revelation 17:18; 18:12, 13, 23) The Bible helps us to see that this harlot is a worldwide religious entity. She depicts, not any one religion, but all religions that produce rotten fruit.

The beast that the harlot rides pictures the world’s political powers.* (Revelation 17:10-13) False religion straddles the back of this political beast, attempting to influence its decisions and to control its direction.

Soon, though, an amazing event will take place. “The ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.” (Revelation 17:16) In a sudden, shocking move, the world’s political powers will turn on false religion and completely destroy her! What will prompt this action? The Bible book of Revelation answers: “God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.” (Revelation 17:17) Yes, God will call false religion to account for all the despicable acts she has committed in his name. In a stroke of perfect justice, he will use her political paramours as his instrument of execution.

What must you do if you do not want to share the fate of false religion? “Get out of her, my people,” urges God’s messenger. (Revelation 18:4) Indeed, now is the time to flee from false religion! But to where can you flee? Not into atheism, since its future is also bleak. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9) The only haven is within true religion. How can you identify true religion?

They lose their basis of power and ability to be perceived as localized "Gods". That's about it.

Real aliens could crush humanity in 24 hours if they actually wanted to. Their hands are tied which ties my hands. Why? Because they refuse to intervene (exercise their power) in a negative manner unless they or their alliances are threatened. Actually, it's a good rule because it's the true exercise of power: restraint.

Why do you think so many fundies use the "aliens are demons" shtick?

It's a pre-emptive strike so they can carry on believing without question if aliens show up and/or have no belief in a supreme being... such an event would then only reinforce their beliefs, a rather nice piece of self-programming.

What would be even more fucking crazy is if they showed up and said "oh... actually the Australian aboriginies had it right, all you judeo-christian Abrahamic derivative religions are waaay wrong... sorry."

Man, shit would go off the chain.

But, we wouldn't. That is my point.
No matter what aliens might say, that still doesn't make them God.
We know they might be a lot more advanced technologically, than us, but we know that doesn't make them "gods". We are past those blind beliefs.

I do not believe in my religion and my God because some "prophet" somewhere at some time performed "miracles" - today technology can perform many things which to an amazone indio might look like a "miracle" - but my belief is not based on such "miracles".

All the miracles that the past prophets did are GONE - no one can verify them now. Where is the staf of Moses? Gone. What about the sea that was devided - cannot be proven today.

What about those people Jesus resurrected? They have been DEAD for millennia now.

The only "miracle" which stays is our book. And that stays till the Judgement Day. It's a living miracle which anyone can experience. No matter what some "alien" might tell us, our "miracle" stays.

Nah, you should read the Qur'an.

According to Qur'an, we not only "think" there "might" be aliens, we KNOW there ARE aliens. So, it would be no "surprize" for us, do you know what I am saying?
There is even a hint in the Qur'an that it might come to an encounter with aliens.

Great post!

Religion does hate competition...

And that ladies and gentlemen is the difference between Islam and Christianity today.

Islam acknowledges that God has created a HUGE universe with BILLIONS of stars and planets and CREATURES everywhere. It acknowledges the LOGIC and REASON, while christians come with sayings like above.

So, as someone once said "if there is no other life out there, then the universe seems like a huge waste of space."

The actual point of the thread is not if these aliens exist (that's a given in this discussion), but if they came and basically said (for example) "yeah that Qur'an is a load of bullshit".

How would Islam's leaders react to that hm?

You are seriously telling me that if ET came down and said "Islam is nonsense, lies, bullshit" those little green dudes wouldn't get a big old KOS fatwa on their heads by some supreme mullah type dude?

That the streets of Mecca wouldn't be thronged with believers going ape and screaming for ET's head on a stick?

Fair enough.

I believe that your religious leaders would feel threatened and take steps to ensure their followers are rallied to support their powerbase by decrying the aliens as the enemy of Islam.

Does a "good Muslim" not comply with the caliph's interpretation of Allah's will?

I'd wager money that in the context of this discussion "Allah's will" would suddenly involve whacking a few little green men.

I'm just thinking in terms of "company policy" so to speak.
Religious leaders are men in positions of power... men in these positions do not like to give up their power... and when leaders speak, followers comply.

But hey, I'm not Muslim so what would I know right? hf

There is no caliph and there is no muslim state. We do not have a religious "hierarchy" like i.e. catholics or orthodox christians.

Nothing our religious "leader" (who is simply the person leading the prayer) says to us can simply "make" us do anything. You should understand that the "leaders" are simply the persons leading the prayer - anyone can do that actually. In my part of town that person happens to be my nephew :)

But he has no more "authority" than any of us. He is simply chosen to lead the prayer according to tradition that it should be lead by someone who has at least some knowledge in islamic rituals - after all he should be able to lead the ritual and recite the Qur'an.

Re: Would 'Disclosure' Be Allowed if Aliens Believed in a Supreme Being?
Wake up

There are no aliens. Only lying demons to make you doubt Christ

Here's the truth as discovered by Mufon investigator Joe Jordan

Every abduction stopped when people asked Jesus for help

Even those who didn't believe in Christ!

Laugh at the alien demon scum. They can't harm you with Jesus !

Spread the word so the antichrist Steven Greer can't take more to hell

There is no caliph and there is no muslim state.
 Quoting: Al-Iskander Al-Albani

Then who the hell is issuing all these fatwas and whatnot?

Who is inciting all those Muslims to gather on the streets of middle eastern countries to burn US flags etc etc?

Who are all these Mullahs who seem to be able to command vast mobs to storm embassies and riot in the streets?

Anyway, that's off topic... you believe 99% of Muslims are all very nice peaceful people who wouldn't hurt a fly.

What's the punishment in the holy Qu'ran for apostasy btw?

Sorry... cheap shot. Have a good week dude. hf

I'm 60% sure that aliens are the head honchos; they don't want us to know about them.

Would 'Disclosure' Be Allowed if Aliens Believed in a Supreme Being?

If the 'Supreme Being' was Obama, disclosure would be insisted upon.

The Annunaki believed in the "Creator of All"

It it Written in the Sumerian Tablets.

Whose emissary, if not yours, was Galzu? Enki and Enlil in unison said.
Who the Earthlings to save wanted, who on Earth made us stay?
Ninharsag her head slowly nodded: For the Creator of All did Galzu appear!
Was the creation of the Earthlings also destined, of that I must wonder!
For a while the four of them were silent; each one past events in his heart recounted.
While fates we decreed, the hand of destiny every step directed! So did Anu say.

NUMEROUS NATIONAL SECURITY PEOPLE HAVE PERSONALLY TOLD ME THIS IS THE BIGGEST QUESTION REMAINING, ON THE "GO...NO GO" DECISION TO DISCLOSE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL CONTACT

THEY (EARTH POLLITICAL POWERS) ARE CONVINCED THAT WITHOUT ALIEN ADMISSION OF A "SUPREME BEING"....ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE IN NUMEROUS COUNTRIES

Why would all hell "break loose" just because the aliens might not believe in God?

Why always this thought, in media, int he movies, etc.?

I personally, and I am sure 1,6 billion of my fellow muslims would not give a rat's behind what aliens believe or don't believe. Just because they are aliens, that doesn't mean they "know it all". Pff ...
 Quoting: Al-Iskander Al-Albani

lol don't be mad that aliens would think your beliefs are dumb as fuck
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49533450
