Quoting: Dace Fuku is nasty....hot particles and all that... but check out what PG&E is spewing out from our end... [link to www.bloomberg.com] Some quotes: "Part of the issue is general concern about radiation, and the startling amounts that are released into the environment by the 435 nuclear power plants operating worldwide as of Jan. 3. Pacific Gas & Electric Co.’s Diablo Canyon plant in San Luis Obispo discharged 323 million liters of water into the Pacific in 2012, or about 870 tons a day, according to data from the company on the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s website. That’s equivalent to 130 Olympic swimming pools and more than twice the daily amount leaking from Fukushima. That water contained 3,670 curies of tritium, or 136 trillion becquerels, according to the company, almost three-and-a-half times the amount released from the Fukushima plant into the ocean in the period starting May 2011. The plant also discharged cesium-137 and strontium-90, though at lower levels than Fukushima. Diablo Canyon’s discharges are regulated by the NRC and the plant complies with its licensing requirements, PG&E spokesman Blair Jones said in an e-mail. Total liquid discharges from Diablo Canyon in 2012 were 0.0165 percent of what the NRC allows, Jones said. " arrgghhh!... whether true or not... maybe they are ALL covering their collective arses.... I should have stayed in bed... honestly.... It's life as we know it, but only just. Anonymous Coward User ID: 53687771 United Kingdom 02/04/2014 12:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since when have any fishermen, or any government come to think of it, acted, or had the authority to act, as responsible proxies and custodians for the future of the human race on this planet? Has anyone considered their track record, so far? Am I correct in my summary - that fascism is asking limitless exploitation if it's OK to contaminate the biosphere with isotopes which last from days to tens of thousands of years? It's a strange one. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 51808037 United States 02/04/2014 12:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hasn't it been leaking into the Pacific for the last 3 years anyway? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51022682 yup, and now they just want to laxidasically tell everyone it's ok..... bastards.... you know, government permission is all.... When I watched all the financial top world whores speaking when it came to Japan there was not a mention of this mess. I couldn't believe it was like it never happened. Insanity runs high in the political/financial drones. I believe Japan will do it anyway and I believe not one country is going to stand against them |

We all saw this coming, but couldn't believe they would go this far, but they are. Please try everything you can to stop this from happening. This will affect (if not already), the life on the planet as we know it, and create a situation thay our children's children cannot deal with.
