No this is not Obama, this is the way it is in the nuke navy. Cheating or a breach of integrity is treated just slightly less than treason.

Every test has an "integrity" statement at the end that requires a signature after the taking the test and after scoring of the test. Failure to have integrity in nuke land is the same as a SEAL not being strong physically and mentally.

Do you think it's possible all these people are cheating? Seems like a huge stretch that that many would have to cheat to pass and that higher in command wouldn't know or care

I think this is an important story and has become a trend. Who fills in for these people when they are removed from duty? Is there enough personnel to cover?

So this outfit that was implicated is an actual operating reactor onboard one of two old missile subs that are moored in Charleston. They are used for hands on training of new students before they actually report to an operating sub or carrier. The two subs are treated the same as an operational sub or carrier. The training and testing is the same and the watch rotations are essentially the same. The only real difference is the boat never goes anywhere, and there are new students to train and qualify every other month or so. When a batch is qualified and ships out another new batch shows up from across the campus from nuke power school.

Most of the instructors are chosen from various commands and are typically the top performers. They are held to a higher standard as they are training the newest of the new nukes sailors. One new instructor from the fleet may have sunk a cheating operation that was ongoing. I would bet good money that the command higher ups did not know. However they are probably very sorry now that they do as their careers are now in jeopardy. People who teach at nuke A school, power school, and prototype are the top 5% of all the nukes. I am glad I'm not there. The shit storm would be fantastic. Disqualifications across the board with naval reactors personal breathing down everyone's neck. Better them than me!
