If you believe that he is what he says, there is no reason to have others that never knew him personally to act as some form of psychic medium to god. Restructuring Jesus' teachings to a copy of old testament beliefs of superiority and club entitlements is going down the wrong path. |

It feels so wonderful and warm. I truly have no idea how I went so long without them. I have taken my Bible out of the closet and have happily re-opened it. I'm glad to be a Christian again. I feel like my life and spirit is back. I felt so empty not being a believer. The feeling of God's love and embrace is being what words can describe. All I can say is that I am so grateful for everything and I am so happy to have God and Jesus by my side. The Word is so inspirational and uplifting. Can someone explain this to me? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45329465 Yea. You never were one. I was one for most of my life. But when I went back, read and highlighted all of the murder, stoning, cursing, jealousy, and evil commanded by the OT god, I stopped christianity right in my tracks. I just can't follow a being so...evil. I don't support war or murder, why should I excuse this god? I haven't found a valid reason as to why the OT god is so vile in comparison to the NT god. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet. At his command the oceans and rivers dry up, the lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wilt. In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed. Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? Well maybe some of that stuff's in there, life is life, but essentially there is a spiritual place inside a human that is empty, and with the acceptance of God and Christ as Savior, it fills up with a joy that cannot be described, which is because it's a spiritual happiness. Once you have tasted spiritual ecstasy nothing is ever the same. Because you never have, and because you yourself don't understand it, doesn't make it any less real. Anonymous Coward User ID: 55391585 United States 03/22/2014 05:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My question is this: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45329465 Why was the god of the OT so.evil? It was like the lovechild of the Rothschild family and Stalin. Countless murdering, stoning, hatred, wars, all in the name of this god who claims to be jealous and vindictive. Then the NT reads the total opposite. Why are there 2 different gods in the bible? The OT disturbed me so much that I actually stopped being christian. Can someone explain this to me? They are different because they are different, nothing says one god has to be identical to someone elses. Understand that transition is the result of advancement from darkness to greater light. Understand that even evil has to bow to transition from control of evil to control by highest entity. A god that makes mistakes and hates his creations must be a god subservient in the end to a god that makes no mistakes and is incapable of generating a product that he is shamed of or hates. Just because a source prophesies something doesnt mean that everything of the old is validated by one correct prophesy. It should be obvious to anyone that the old testament god is clearly inferior and irrational and less capable that the one that replaced it. Any type of god than mandates destruction and santions hatred upon those innocents he abandons and ignores is less a god and more of a monster. What mother or father can you possibly be if you abandon most of your babies at birth and set the rest of them upon them to tear them to pieces? Why would not a god of all love them all and hope that they will find their way back? Thats the difference, the OT god demands destruction of those he abandoned while the NT god wants all to come home. This cannot be the same god, no way. |

The earth had been disturbed because of the recent rainfall. Looks like it had been there at least through winter. The case is hard and about the size of a briefcase except a cheap travel type unbranded. In june last year a local city bank was robbed, the offenders were put in prison and not all of the money was recovered. I took the case out not expecting much and opened it up. Inside was loosely packed thick plastic bags containing loose used bank notes. £5's £10's and £20's. I immediately went back home and counted out £10000. I did some research on that robbery and £70000 was stolen. 24/7 |

Quoting: Bogan Bread 53938560 But OP, know that demons are going to come after you stronger than ever now. They will try to break your faith however they can, in the most slyest ways if they have to. Always pray and never let your guard down. Also, just a side note, if the devil entity actually comes to you and asks you to worship him, demand him to leave IN THE NAME OF CHRIST. Say, "Jesus died on the cross for me", and he will leave immediately. If you say leave in the name of the Father, the devil will answer, "But He is my Father/creator too". You need Jesus to make the devil leave. Jesus has no relation to the devil. Jesus died for humans and humans alone. Much love Good advice... I've always called upon the power of the Holy Spirit. When I feel I'm under attack, whether mentally, emotionally or however, I verbally tell the Holy Spirit to take this battle away from me because I know he's there to fight the enemy for me (we can't do it alone). And I tell the enemy that the power of the Holy Spirit is against him. Peace overwhelms me when I do this. Many say that the god of the OT is actually satan, and many things have lead me to believe that it's true. I mean just look: "You Ethiopians will also be slaughtered by my sword," says the LORD. And the LORD will strike the lands of the north with his fist. He will destroy Assyria and make its great capital, Nineveh, a desolate wasteland, parched like a desert. The city that once was so proud will become a pasture for sheep and cattle. All sorts of wild animals will settle there. Owls of many kinds will live among the ruins of its palaces, hooting from the gaping windows. Rubble will block all the doorways, and the cedar paneling will lie open to the wind and weather. This is the fate of that boisterous city, once so secure. "In all the world there is no city as great as I," it boasted. But now, look how it has become an utter ruin, a place where animals live! Everyone passing that way will laugh in derision or shake a defiant fist. (Zephaniah 2:12-15 NLT) "I will sweep away everything in all your land," says the LORD. "I will sweep away both people and animals alike. Even the birds of the air and the fish in the sea will die. I will reduce the wicked to heaps of rubble, along with the rest of humanity," says the LORD. "I will crush Judah and Jerusalem with my fist and destroy every last trace of their Baal worship. I will put an end to all the idolatrous priests, so that even the memory of them will disappear. For they go up to their roofs and bow to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the LORD, but then they worship Molech, too. So now I will destroy them! And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the LORD's guidance or seek my blessings." (Zephaniah 1:2-6 NLT) "Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT) |

Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT) Anything that claims to create innocents for abandonment and destruction cannot be the creator of all. Its that simple. A thing is only as it behaves. That was the repeated emphasis of Jesus. A god that demands murder of children and destruction of honest effort is not the creator of that which he hates and destroys. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45329465 But WHY would god have to resort to such evil antics? Humans murder, rape, divide, and torture each other because we are imperfect and heavily programmed by the media which glamourizes this type of behavior. But a perfect god who knows all should not react in the same manner as imperfect humans. god should be able to solve things in a simpler manner than stoning every young girl and boy. I just don't believe that such a high power that claims to be benevolent would describe itself as being jealous and wrathful. WHY? Because there are those that use evil for their own benefit. One cannot separate evil from the entity using evil as its tool. Its use of evil defines it as evil. All the rest is to pretend it isnt so. Yep, and that is why I stopped being a christian. Never could I support such an evil, demented being. Most say that the OT is irrelevant due to the NT "new covenant" but I say that is nonsense. christians have to deal with that vile collection of evil also known as the OT and not just acknowledge the NT. |
furPete'sSake User ID: 32111913 United States 03/22/2014 08:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: furPete'sSake God is not evil, fallen mankind is evil. The absence of God is evil. The Old Testament God and Jesus Christ are One and the Same. It's good that you went out from us if you have no spiritual discernment. The LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies! The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence. The LORD is good. When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge. And he knows everyone who trusts in him. But he sweeps away his enemies in an overwhelming flood. He pursues his foes into the darkness of night. (Nahum 1:2-8 NLT) Funny thing is, this seems like an accurate description of satan... Sounds like Almighty God to me. Here in Gomorrah online, there are all kinds of threads advocating death from people for child murderers, serial killers, people who have sex with shaved baboons, murderers of all stripes, baby rapists, and on and on, but when God kills them, as He has every right to do, after all He is their God if they like it or not, you want to get all knickers-in-a-knot over it. But WHY would god have to resort to such evil antics? Humans murder, rape, divide, and torture each other because we are imperfect and heavily programmed by the media which glamourizes this type of behavior. I just don't believe that such a high power that claims to be benevolent would describe itself as being jealous and wrathful. yes, you all want to re-make God into Who you think He is, not He Whom He reveals Himself to be in the revelation to mankind. I should say, "oh that's all right, dearie, Jesus loves you, just continue on with what you're doing". And you will all die in your sins and then your blood will be required of me at the judgment. First off, learn the attributes of God. Read the 10 Commandments. God is a Spirit and above all, He is a Holy God. Nothing and no one can come into His Presence that is evil or unclean, or unholy. "There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but that way is death". Your reasoning seems right to you, but it is wrong. You are all going off a cliff. God is merciful, God is long suffering, God is good. He holds out His hands all day long, waiting for you to repent of your sins, and when He does act, He acts righteously, for God is above all, just. "It's a friendly friendly world" (Andy Kaufman) Calm seas do not a sailor make, Nor easy horses, a horseman. And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower and when He could be certain only drowning men could see Him- Leonard Cohen |

The word christian isnt in bible. Christians follow teachings of St Paul but not Jesus. Jesus only came but for the lost sheep of Israel. Jesus was a man Acts 2:22. Bible has 100s of contracdictions in it so bible is not from God. |

No, and I don't understand how the Jews, supposedly very intelligent people, have hung on to the Old Testament/Torah all this time. Why? It baffles me. |

I'm going to a brand new church on Sunday and I am so excited. I'm just so glad to be back in God's arms. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2158689 Another addict to the opium of the people. Let me guess: you had a life threatening illness and recovered or you are tired of drinking away your sorrows or you had/do have a drug problem or you are unemployed and can't find work or you just broke up with someone or you just got out of jail/avoided going. God doesn't love you, much like he didn't love all those who have perished in his name. Man invited God to control other men. Hence, you have become a slave, congrats. It's a heck of a lot better than getting sucked into Scientology. That's real slavery. |
