Contrary to almost all other belief systems, Jesus taught a personal individual relationship, not a club affiliation, not a situation where you are preached to, but to follow the principles that he himself spoke.
If you believe that he is what he says, there is no reason to have others that never knew him personally to act as some form of psychic medium to god.
Restructuring Jesus' teachings to a copy of old testament beliefs of superiority and club entitlements is going down the wrong path.

Well maybe some of that stuff's in there, life is life, but essentially there is a spiritual place inside a human that is empty, and with the acceptance of God and Christ as Savior, it fills up with a joy that cannot be described, which is because it's a spiritual happiness. Once you have tasted spiritual ecstasy nothing is ever the same.

Because you never have, and because you yourself don't understand it, doesn't make it any less real. There's the seen world and there's the unseen world, we live in both.

They are different because they are different, nothing says one god has to be identical to someone elses.

Understand that transition is the result of advancement from darkness to greater light.
Understand that even evil has to bow to transition from control of evil to control by highest entity.
A god that makes mistakes and hates his creations must be a god subservient in the end to a god that makes no mistakes and is incapable of generating a product that he is shamed of or hates.
Just because a source prophesies something doesnt mean that everything of the old is validated by one correct prophesy.
It should be obvious to anyone that the old testament god is clearly inferior and irrational and less capable that the one that replaced it.
Any type of god than mandates destruction and santions hatred upon those innocents he abandons and ignores is less a god and more of a monster.
What mother or father can you possibly be if you abandon most of your babies at birth and set the rest of them upon them to tear them to pieces?
Why would not a god of all love them all and hope that they will find their way back?
Thats the difference, the OT god demands destruction of those he abandoned while the NT god wants all to come home.

Today I found a suitcase partially in a remote stream flowing through valleys I occasionally trek through. The earth had been disturbed because of the recent rainfall. Looks like it had been there at least through winter. The case is hard and about the size of a briefcase except a cheap travel type unbranded.

In june last year a local city bank was robbed, the offenders were put in prison and not all of the money was recovered.

I took the case out not expecting much and opened it up. Inside was loosely packed thick plastic bags containing loose used bank notes. £5's £10's and £20's. I immediately went back home and counted out £10000.

I did some research on that robbery and £70000 was stolen.

That book declares that god abandoned some and favored others, not anything that sounds remotely holy, but perfectly human and illogical.

But WHY would god have to resort to such evil antics? Humans murder, rape, divide, and torture each other because we are imperfect and heavily programmed by the media which glamourizes this type of behavior. But a perfect god who knows all should not react in the same manner as imperfect humans. god should be able to solve things in a simpler manner than stoning every young girl and boy. I just don't believe that such a high power that claims to be benevolent would describe itself as being jealous and wrathful.

WHY?

Because there are those that use evil for their own benefit.
One cannot separate evil from the entity using evil as its tool.
Its use of evil defines it as evil. All the rest is to pretend it isnt so.

Good advice... I've always called upon the power of the Holy Spirit. When I feel I'm under attack, whether mentally, emotionally or however, I verbally tell the Holy Spirit to take this battle away from me because I know he's there to fight the enemy for me (we can't do it alone). And I tell the enemy that the power of the Holy Spirit is against him.

Peace overwhelms me when I do this.

Anything that claims to create innocents for abandonment and destruction cannot be the creator of all.

Yep, and that is why I stopped being a christian. Never could I support such an evil, demented being. Most say that the OT is irrelevant due to the NT "new covenant" but I say that is nonsense. christians have to deal with that vile collection of evil also known as the OT and not just acknowledge the NT.

God is a Spirit and above all, He is a Holy God. Nothing and no one can come into His Presence that is evil or unclean, or unholy.
