I'm Going To Launch Myself Into The Air Using 350 Model Rocket Engines
Just bought 150 of these E class model rockets engines glueing and wiring these onto a 5x5 1/4 inch plywood. I have a lawn chair fastened on top of the plywood. Gotta stay as light as possible, hence the lawn chair. I am halfway through wiring all the model rocket engines together so they all ignite at once. This should be cool. I hope to get at least 50 feet off the ground. I'll post my liftoff on utube.
Leaving the Holodeck now.

Hope you try it out with a bag of potatoes first, if this thing isn't balanced, you could hurt yourself.

Make sure you come back here and post the video. Sounds like something that jackass guy would do. Funny as long as you don't get hurt.

Let's just say for the sake of argument your planned flight is successful. Do you have a landing plan? A 50 foot fall can kill you. You might want to think this out.

Are you one of my sons? If you are, don't forget what happened after the garage roof/trampoline incident.

You should realize that in order to get uniformed lift-off, all the rocket engines need to ignite at the same time.

if you coordinate 350 of the engines 8 lbs / sec for six seconds you may get 200 pounds 80 feet up.

We need a live broadcast of this.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

Re: I'm Going To Launch Myself Into The Air Using 350 Model Rocket Engines
Balancing a rocket so it doesn't become unstable is very hard, a man on a chair on top of plywood is going to be very unbalanced no matter how hard you try. The second you start to lift, the whole platform will flip over to the heaviest side and body slam you with all it's thrust into the ground. Then maybe the rocket motors still thrusting will break loose or be aimed at you and burn you to death.

This is a very very bad idea if you are indeed serious. Please do not do this. You will be horribly injured as well as any bystanders.

You're going to either die or be severely burned. Trust me. I have built and launched hundreds of rockets. You're going to die.

Next time make a big batch of your own rocket candy and make one really big one. Stuff the rocket candy into a big Sonotube.
