Re: Lego Movie filled with symbolism about our society.
Just saw it too. It seemed like communism until "Emitt" broke out of his world. Everyone was basically told how to think and follow "instructions," like how it ended though, letting people think/create for themselves.
 Quoting: The Fifth Element

What I see....is that they aren't telling people to break away from the masses at all.

When a story is being told, it is human behavior to identify with the hero in the story.

People aren't being taught to break away from the masses or how to think. These movies are telling them WHAT to think...teaching people they are special and better than everyone else.

Consider....there aren't any discussions, stories or movies that point out the obvious flaw- that humans are easily controlled, they don't question, they dont use critical thinking skills. If these movies were really trying to wake people up, there'd be a lot less zombies running around. Instead, they are creating zombies.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53980380

Quite like most religions or cults. "Do you feel different? You are! And that makes you superior! Now Join our homogenized group of differentness and be just like us!
 Quoting: LogicBomber

Yes! Good point.

Every (cult) group thinks themselves better than the rest.

Plus...Teenagers...they think they know better than their parents. And while this is a worldwide phenomenon (very few people know HOW to think), it seems to be a bigger problem in western cultures, all through adulthood. These cultures have more propaganda and entertainment to instill beliefs of grandeur and self-delusion.

Thank you all for writing your take on this movie. It is one I definitely will take the kids to. Sometimes it seems we only report on what is bad but it is so refreshing to see something good

Do you really think Hollywood grew a conscious and wants to warn people?

These movies are actually used to keep people zombied. By identifying with the hero, people believe they themselves are already enlightened and better than the masses.

No one is teaching the masses HOW to wake up. Just the hero wakes up and thus viewers believe themselves a hero too...without any necessary work, or thinking, or awareness

I have a friend like this who was coincidentally raving about this movie last night

he just sits around playing video games, watching childrens cartoons or Nickelodeon in his spare time. never tries to better himself, learn a new skill, or do anything "new". a goodie two-shoes at best

these people have a weird elitist attitude because they've been told throughout school how smart they are.. A's and B's in AP classes so they think they're so much better than the regular kids in regular classes.

still stuck in that high school mentality...

Re: Lego Movie filled with symbolism about our society.
I couldn't agree more with op. It was filled with this stuff I saw it right from the get go. Like 1984 meets The Matrix. The entire movie was an allegory for our society today no doubt about it. The villain was "President Business" everyone had to conform by following instructions all the time to do anything, independent free thought was bad. They played the same happy pop song "Everyday is awesome" on the radio over and over and over all day everyday and everyone loved and sang along. All of society was captivated by an obviously super dumb TV show. Technology "Robots" were used to stifle creativity and round up free thinkers "Master builders". President Business would issue orders and the police led by "Good Cop/Bad Cop" along with "Micro managers" would directly enforce them. The President pleases the masses by offering free food to the public "Taco Tuesday" while using it as a cover to unleash a chemical weapon on the world. Theres so much more but you get the idea. It was a good movie though and I liked it, probably a lot more than those who don't see all the symbolism.

No, I don't think Hollywood grew a conscious but I do know that in an effort to ease their own conscious they have to issue a warning.
What I do know is that knowledge put into ACTION issues a change, at least in me and my household. Since becoming "awake", I eat very different, take medication only when necessary, do not vaccinate, stay indoors on high chemtrailing days, abstain from mainstream music and televison, homeschool, prepare my household to be self sufficient.....
I for one have never gone along with mainstream thinking in anyway. I have always considered myself quite different than my peers even though I participated with mainstream activities like chearleading. I have not seen the movie but it sounds alot better than the movies geared towards children that are in dirrect opposition to what I want my children to see.

The problem is that the masses don't see the obvious symbols and metaphors in movies like this.

Instead, they assume its fiction and that they, themselves, are too smart to be part of the zombies.

Ugh...

My whole family has this elitist mentality, lol

This is exactly the problem I outlined in another post...

The movies are actually installing this elitist mentality.

Movies COULD be teaching people how to think. Instead, they tell people WHAT to think...that they are better than everyone else.

That's the irony. Everyone thinks they are different than their peers...lol.

It's great that you are seeing the social conditionings...but the next step is to see the mind conditionings.

Thinking you are awake is no different than everyone thinking they are awake too.

Question everything, most importantly, question your own thoughts...your own behaviors..your own emotions/beliefs, and your own experiences.

Only then will the mind work as its supposed to. You won't feel that you're different than anyone else anymore. But you'll see things in a whole new light. It's unmistakeable

You're all falling for it. The movie is deeper than what is being pointed out.

The IMDB short description of the movie reads, "An ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together."

Understanding the symbolism of this synopsis alone will reveal the movie to be a Kabbalistic portrayal of the universal battle between good and evil, between God and Lucifer. However, in Kabbalism everything is flipped upside down; good becomes bad and bad becomes good; God is the evil one and Lucifer is the good one.

In Freemasonry and other occult/esoteric mentalities Lucifer is very often referred to as the Architect or the Master Builder. In other words, what this movie does on its most foundational level is that it subliminally and subconsciously seeks to condition the mind to accept the TPTB/occult/Luciferian mentality where the God of Heaven is an evil tyrant who must be rebelled against.

Riddle me this.........if tptb work to keep everyone in the dark and have people in Hollywood to keep it that way (sheeple) then how do movies like this get released??? And the opposite messages seem to come from the same company.... For instance the NSA surveillance in a Disney's kid show versus the story of monsters Inc. also done by Disney

So I've steered clear of ever... trying to analyze a movie again.

The people who think they are awake may have some knowledge yet they have not changed in any way. I'm sure that 2 years from now my thinking will have evolved into an even higher level of knowledge put Into action,at least that is what I hope. When I say I have always felt different from my peers it is no way putting them down. I did take a personality quiz and I was put in a category that was a very low percentile, meaning my personality is quite rare. Please don't think I see myself as any different in a human sense because I don't and that is why I am rather rude when people put blacks or poor people down.

I would also like to add that the term "sheep" is overly and inaccurately used. How can one be basically reffered to as dumb if they do not know. Was I dumb on the first day in pre-algebra class because I couldn't find the value of x? Of course not. I had to learn. If one is truely a sheep it would have to mean that they are aware and do nothing to change themselves or their actions.

I haven't seen it yet but I can't wait to take my 4 year old . I couldn't think of a better way for him to start seeing the way human civilization has been for eons.

They key however is to program him with what follows after he understands how our world works

That We are all one, reflections of each other, all part of the bigger picture.

It's great for adults still living behind the "vale" such as his mother and her boyfriend.

Re: Lego Movie filled with symbolism about our society.
modern day movies are no different then ancient mythology and story telling.

the mystery schools used theater and performed plays using special effects in the same way to tell stories to an audience. At the mystery schools of Eleusis people would travel from all over to view a drama or play. The audience would drink a psychedelic drink and and watch the play.

"For centuries, people came from all over the world to Eleusis to participate in a series of structured rituals, which produced a change of consciousness in the participants (much like the mystery-religions of today, which generally call themselves other things). "

next time your in a movie theater, turn around and look at everyone. The entire audience is captivated,.. emotional music swells to effect the psychology of the viewer at just the right times. THe movie theater is one of the greatest propaganda tools of all time.

"Nazism courted the masses by the means of slogans that were aimed directly at the instincts and emotions of the people. It is therefore not surprising that the Nazis valued film as a propaganda instrument of enormous power."

all this being said, not all propaganda is for nefarious causes, the mystery schools used theater to expand consciousness, the nazi to implant certain ideas into the psyhe of the masses... but make no mistake, the modern day movies are utilized in the same fashion, to alter the ideas and emotions of the masses... sometimes for good, sometimes for bad... all depends on who is making the movie.

So is the Lego Movie put out by the "white hats" or the "black hats"?

For me, the message in the movie is that you, and by extension, you, and you, and you, and you . . . are the hero. You can save the whole world when you finally realize that is you who made it in the first place.

Or, is it just another well-displayed piece of propaganda? Reinforcing the idea that the hero is NOT you, instead it's the other guy. So we all just sit around waiting for "Emmett" to reshape the world into Utopia.

That is what kills the fun of these movies when someone injects their own political beliefs even if we do agree with them , its just as wrong. lighten up its just a movie pfft fuck that is it every movie , every fucking movie. and as far as hollywood getting a conscience ? ha! look how they coddle woody " let me touch you " allen and roman" here drink this " polanski is proof enough. It is too bad we dont have a better culture of movies to bring our families too. perhaps we should decide on another activity until the trash circles the drain in hollywood finally . like that is gonna happen.

Check out the comments on the official trailer and tell me how any of the sheep are actually getting 1984 from the movie.

It was so clear to me, how can they not take notice? Troubling times indeed.

Re: Lego Movie filled with symbolism about our society.
Yep. Saw it last night. It was a 2nd grade level 1984. To bad people are too stupid to heed the warnings. Star Wars has made billions of dollars from millions of people who just are not capable of transferring their understanding of the lessons about government tyranny in the movies to real life.

We have got to be one of the dumbest societies on the planet. Our entertainment on the big screen and the small is replete with serious real life moral stories that we cheer on with a bucket of popcorn and then completely ignore when we leave the theater or get off our couch.

We are not dumb. We are scared. The tests on mass psychology done show no matter who we are no matter where we are from - no matter who is 'in charge' or who we are 'in charge' of... over 50% of people will follow orders and literally torture when told to. They will also over 50% of the time see what the 'masses' see and not question it one bit. The propaganda urges the consensus & conformity that then 50% form and the rest of us then either conform to or have a thought in the back of our head. That thought in the back of our head is the truth but our mouths will never utter it. Our keystrokes will never type it - it only remains a thought, and idea that just maybe what everyone believes is wrong... but then they will think i'm a nut case if i say anything and i'm wrong so i should just shut up...

people will kill others on command for this very reason. We have been conditioned, anesthetized and made ready for the coming slaughter and all one can do is try to hide their head and not be an easy target - conformity is a perfect way to do this and it has allowed many families to survive generations... I am a product of this.

So to call 'us' as the US idiots or ignorant is simply wrong. many of us are just in fear of the police state and most of the world has been like this forever... there are not really many free countries in the world and the free'er they look, the less free they actually are if you start to dig deeper.

We as humanity have sold our souls to money and material instead of liberty which has always been on the table. The people that bought our souls and greed did not give us an unfair option - they had liberty on the table but that meant we didn't focus on money and material as much but we chose money and material so liberty is part of the cost... our grand parents and great grand parents bought this and those that didn't perished... everyone has a profit motive so to hate the banks or politicians is to hate yourself or your ancestry. You could always choose liberty over vanity and material wealth.

We are all a part of it, especially if we vote and actually care... if you spend money you are a part of it so unless you are completely homeless and use no form of currency and simply trade your efforts for resources and have no material objectives or designs on other people, you can consider yourself free of the system of control that has us in it's grip from the moment we are born until the minute we die.

The 'big data' being collected and used is just the beginning. Once they can establish patterns and ways to monetize and manipulate, the world will fundamentally change and it will be a very 'interesting' society but one that is no different than say the wild west or even the prohibition era... when you never knew the trouble that could come your way. We live in such an easy and convenient world and unless it affects you directly, why both worrying? Why bother worrying unless you are the one directly under the gun?

I didn't mean to come down too hard on Americans in general. I am one. It's just that we more than most have the benefit of real freedom and a crystal clear history founded on avoiding exactly the kind of statist dystopia we are now embracing as normal. If anyone should know better, if anyone in the world should see this coming and rise up to stop it, it's us.

... and we now have a two term Marxist muslim apologist as commander in chief who got 50+% of the popular vote twice. No, I don't mean to be overly harsh about Americans in general, but at least half of the country is as dumb as a box of hammers.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Re: Lego Movie filled with symbolism about our society.

Open your eyes friends.
