I had an inner body experience...Yeah, I said inner body! Was freaky...no more smoke for me!
Smoked some extremely kind bud this morning and then had a freaky experience. I became acutely aware of my soul....my core being and how i was essentially trapped inside my body. It was as if I was trapped behind my eyes looking out....the eyes were nothing more than a window to the world and my being was essentially living behind them.

Hard to really explain this feeiling in full...not sure if I'm describing the experience in a way that does it full justice. Was a creepy feeling that has me questioning reality and the way we perceive our existence.

That's sick.

I've had that many times whilst stoned.

It's as if you're seeing existence as it should be.

Except, I quit blazing because of this exact issue.

LOL, it's called dissociation OP... A well known effect. This is where the phrase "I smoke to escape for awhile" etc. comes from. It is the desirable effect, however, it varies in severity depending on the particular strain/potency.

Disassociation! Ahhh...that's it. Feels better now that I have a word to describe the feeling. I've been lighting up since 1984 and have smoked plenty of herb i my day but have never had a feeling like this!

The experience was very spiritual...what made things creepy was that I got the sense that i could "release" my soul at will if I wanted to but that I would physically die in the process. The soul would be free but the body would be lifeless...All I had to do was "give in" to the feeling and trust my basic instincts and knowledge of God.

But this went against my understanding of how God operates which led me to think that I was being deceived. Weird.

We'll eventually be "released" from the physical body.

But while we're here in this physical body, it's important that we fulfill our purpose, which in general is to love and be helpful to all.

How do you know you weren't on the verge of experiencing an OBE?

hmm

That might feel like 'releasing your soul' in the sense that your awareness can experience itself outside of the confines of your physical body. Of course you would definitely not 'die' in the process.

Could be, but isn't the ultimate OBE death? And I wasn't quite ready to go there yet! LOL! Certainly wasn't going to take that step into the unknown like that!

When the physical mind isn't ready for such an experience it might be perceived as 'death' from that perspective / vantage point due to your conscious identification with the physical body but no, it's not 'death'...

If your intuition is telling you to take a break from toking it might be wise to do so.... Allow yourself the necessary time to integrate and process such an experience that you had and make sense of it.... You'll gain clarity in due time....
