Hi I'm Alex i'm new to this site and i'm somewhat a christian. Ive heard about God eversince i was a kid but it was when i was around 16 that i started reading the Bible and what i found shocked me.
My question to you is how to be a real christian?
Where do i start?
I want to stop backsliding and going back into sin.
I'm tired of having my mind full of confused thoughts about God.
I often doubt God's love...
Also i'm scrizophrenic and bi-polar.
Sometimes i can control myself sometime i can't.
I wouldn't mind having some christian friends to guide me.
I don't want to go to hell and mostly i want to be a good person.
What am i supposed to do now?

First you must absolutely know that the Lord loves you.
He died for you on the cross and for everyone but the choice to believe this and follow Him, He has given unto you to make and to the individuals that seek the Truth.
When you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, you confessed in your heart that Jesus Christ is who He said He was and IS.
You absolute believe every word that is written in the Bible about what God has done and is doing and is going to do in the future.
This is what is called Faith Alex.
The will to believe God is the Truth and that you honestly and truly BELIEVE in your heart that God is indeed real and His Son, Jesus Christ is indeed real and every word that the Bible has written in it is REAL.
The Bible is an account of human history from God's perspective through His chosen people Israel, and also the Church (Christ's Body) to reach the lost in the world that many understand the sacrifice of what Jesus Christ did on the cross.
What you can do today Alex to grow in your relationship with God Almight is first of all:
TRUST IN HIM ABSOLUTELY.
PRAY TO HIM ABOUT EVERYTHING AND SEEK HIM IN ALL THINGS.
If you believe God is truly real, you know that He has all the answers.
When you pray to Him, He might not give you an answer right away or even the answer you like but it is always the RIGHT answer.
It is then up to you to follow His direction or go your own way, which usually leads failure and sin.
We are not perfect now, even though we have been forgiven. We as Christians, while we are on this earth are still falliable to sin because we still struggle with the SIN-NATURE that is in us (the rebellious nature that Adam and Even passed on when they sinned).
Then here is what you should do.
Pray often and in prayer ask God all and any questions.
Read the Bible diligently. Read it at least once all the way through and re-read as many times as you can.
Then pray to God to lead you to a worship group or church where you can learn from your brothers and sisters in the body of Jesus Christ. Such a person like myself who is your brother in His body forever. We are one in our faith in Him.
If you do these things and pray and seek the Lord, the Lord who is Faithful and True will answer your prayers.
But you must be willing to follow His lead and go where He leads you.
Trust me, it is a wonder and the grandest of adventure, full of life and wonderful peace in knowing you are with the Lord always.
Never forget that you are His precious child and that He loves you.
Do not listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.
He loves you so much He died for you and He is coming back for you and everyone who loves Him.
