If this volcano errupts it's going to be a global problem as far as I know.

Will the ejecta be massive enough to block sunlight for a significant period of time? If so, what parts of the world would have the sunlight blocked due to the ash ejecta covering the high skies?

The ash cloud initially would block out the sun across the entire US. East coast could be spared, but almost all of the US. The last time this thing blew, ash actually settling on the ground went as far as the Mississippi river.

The grain belt today was covered in a couple of feet of ash.

The world would eventually have a cloud around it with reduced sunlight.

The avg world wide temp would drop by 5 degrees centigrade is the best estimate.

This would create an ice age.

I am no fear monger, but you are really going to take the Gov't word for it?

If they had knowledge that it was about to blow, I can guarantee you that they would never tell us .

I don't think personally that it is about to blow, but I sure in the hell wouldn't take the governments word for it.
