My daughter just called from Augusta and said the whole house shook and was swaying....Very scary... Any other news out there?

still without power, whole house shook for more than 6 seconds

family felt in it appling - I'm in town, close to the river and the house shook - I need info!

Okay - not to sound lame but the earthquake I experienced there was no "sonic boom."

Felt it here in Atlanta. Felt like someone was running hard throughout my house for several long seconds.Sounded like a noisy long rattling. Was pretty sure it was an earthquake but nothing on the walls rattled or swayed...just the whole structure. Sad it is so close to Augusta, Georgia/SC because they were and still are devastated by the ice storm we had. That's adding insult to injury. So far no reports of major damage but it's dark so tomorrow we will know more.

4.4 shouldn't be much if any damage. Rattles the nerves if you aren't used to it though.

I've been in bigger earthquakes and this one didn't even register as an eq for a while, it was a huge boom then shaking

2 storms and an earthquake in 3 weeks time. I'm nervous now about tornado season!

So you did hear it??? Can you explain your experience? The sequence? I'm trying to research it - Because I've just looked and found some information about the New Madrid EQ that had a large "BOOM"! Can you share more pretty please?

Felt a strange little rumble here in Fountain Inn, 30 minutes south of Greenville, SC. Happened somewhere around 10:30. Had no idea it mightve been a small quake until now.

I heard/felt like a heavy military plane flew over, but I didn't think it was an earthquake. I live in the upstate SC, Greenville.
