Youtube without isp ??
So my mate is pc illiterate but wants to watch youtube vids at home !.....Whats the easiest and cheapest way to do it ?

He's looking to buy a smart tv if that makes it any easier.

I was thinking along the lines of a mobile hotspot device with a giffgaff sim with unlimited data....but I'm way behind the tech.

Any ideas ?

The thing is, here in the UK you have to pay rental for the landline £14.99 a month, then broadband on top of that.

So I'm getting back to maybe creating a wi fi hotspot or using a dongle with a pay as you go sim with unlimited data, Then maybe the Roku.

Is that do-able ?

RIKOMAGIC android TV stick
I have the older model MK802 III - hooks up to the HDMI of TV, added a wireless mouse and keyboard and acts as a computer has an inbuilt wifi receiver and runs off the internet router. Can also add an ethernet cable with adapter.

Best for the money - got mine for 59 USD.

If you have internet package added on to your android cell phone, make it a wifi hotspot using the function under network in "ES file explorer" that you can download for free from the google play store.
