Feb 27 (R-----s) - Fighter jets along Russia's western borders have been put on combat alert, the Defence Ministry was quoted as saying on Thursday by Interfax news agency.

tartars are Muslims, they have been there for hundreds of years. they used to fight with Ukrainians but now are at peace. during the soviet era stalin hauled off many tartars to Siberia; labor camps. after his death they started to slowly return to their homes... tartars fear the Russians... just like Ukrainians they will fight to be independent from Russia... and in this case they very much support a sovereign and whole Ukraine. 'Russians' in Ukraine have a clear choice, move to Russia or accept being Ukrainian. Russia has NO RIGHT to interfere in Ukraine as these people are NOT Russians, the passports Russia is handing out is a scam to try to make a move for territory like in Georgia.. the so called ethnic russian majority in the region isn't actually a majority, they have just been the loudest so far
