I find it interesting that Russia and China have agreed more or less for gas sales but putting the infrastructure in place (pipelines) will take years, even though Russia already has pipelines leading up to its extraction points.

Yet some people think that USA can take shale gas (for which there are currently insufficient pipelines), transfer them to yet-not-existing liquefaction plants (which take very long to build, particularly if one complies with environmental regulations, including environmental impact studies), transfer that on yet-not-existing LNG carriers to Europe (of which quite many would be required, which would take quite some time to build, since current demand has ship-builders working at full capacity, so you would first need to construct new ship-building facilities), and then transfer all that to Europe.

And all of this massive investment would be lost, if the tensions die down.

The industry is already seeing it, in another few months it will be very visible to all industry and then the markets. Certainly I would not be surprised if Ukraine was seeking consultation with Russia on their anti-terrorism operations (recall that on the night of Feb. 19, a huge arsenal of weapons was stolen from a military depot around L'viv, where the most right-wing radicals are centered, and the Ukrainian government was expecting attempts at armed insurrection - Russia sending advisers under these circumstances would be normal).

But, the FB claims it was flight 1818 on Feb. 20. It looks to me that this flight was scheduled to land at 19:15 in Kiev ( [link to info.flightmapper.net] long after the violence had already ended.
