Another 1 or 2 million of those that surrendered were placed in a fenced open air area and allowed to starve to death. They lived in their own filth and disease until they died. It was punishable by death for other Germans to give them food. People of other countries , like Iraq, think that the US is like John Wayne and fair and honest. In other words, giving up their weapons is a sure death warrant for themselves. I think this is a fight to the death of one side or the other, or possibly establish a DMZ. There won't be a happy united Ukraine after this is over.
