East-Ukrainian self-defense forces take military base in Donetsk


Self-defense forces of the unrecognized Donetsk People's Republic have gained control over a base of the Interior troops located in downtown Donetsk. "The military received an order from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry in the morning to begin active actions against representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic," the press service of the DPR said to Itar-Tass.

“With their Mt Korochun arsenals all restocked with explosive ordnance, shrapnel is falling like rain from heaven. Population took refuge in basements. Sounds like hell of some kind. We could hear the screams of women. Slavyansk is being subjected to intense mortar fire. Kramatorsk is also being shelled from Mt Korochun, beginning near the airfield, then in retaliation residential sector.”

In taking part participated in a battalion of miners “Kalmius” and group BB Donetsk self-defense.
