- Organized a phony "referendum" in order to justify armed rebellion, but then

- Skipped off to a fancy resort while his city suffered from the resulting civil war.

If the accusations are true, the citizens of his city would certainly applaud his arrest.

The basic point here is that those who foment an armed civil war are criminals.

I wrote 2 months ago the Russian oligarchs will reach a point where they will collectively decide no more of their billions melting away will be tolerated at the hands of Putin and his Pyrrhic Ukraine follies. They will pay-off the generals, certain Duma figures will comprise the new leadership and the FSB will decide if it is to be a bloodless coup or, in fact, how much blood will be spilt.

The only oposition rising to Putin would be the one thinking, that he is too "concern" and too little "Russia invades ur ass". And what that means is war and more sanctions, more business lost for Oligarchs.

Oligarchs are shady millionares made by businesses with governments and mafia. For them to make a rebellion is like going against their master to surve western intrests.

I dont see any acceptance in the army for this or in the FSB. Btw. FSB controls oligarchs. Oligarchs are at the lowest part chain of decision.
