Another thing when Putin received the military's backing in his latest presidential run, it was for one single reason. Putin promised the generals, admirals to implement a 10 year, 650 billion USD plan to completely remake and update the entire military. Currently, we are in the 3rd year.

Now, apparently, generals are not happy b/c Putin's policies in Eastern Ukraine have brought that 10 year plan to a complete halt. Generals are very skeptical the military re-modernisation will be completed, full term. Sanctions, capital flight, economy gone to shit and they blame a reckless Putin. A fissure has developed.

Cell phones are down in Lugansk and i have not heard anything since Sunday very early in morning when friend went for a walk.

I heard from the Tweets that some people and some cars made a run for it yesterday up north, but at the end the Separatists stopped the flow and only 70 people and a few cars made it out.

I have this wishful thinking that my friend was one of those but from the 4 pix i saw, that person was not one of them.

Otherwise nothing to report from inside Lugansk.

I wrote 2 months ago the Russian oligarchs will reach a point where they will collectively decide no more of their billions melting away will be tolerated at the hands of Putin and his Pyrrhic Ukraine follies. They will pay-off the generals, certain Duma figures will comprise the new leadership and the FSB will decide if it is to be a bloodless coup or, in fact, how much blood will be spilt.
