Does anyone give half a crap about the Olympics?

LOL each Olympics that goes by I care less and less. I was really into watching the gymnastics as a kid bc I was in gymnastics myself, so that was fun to watch. That's really the only part of the olympics that's ever interested me. Now I'll watch it if it's on, but I won't make an effort to tune in if I'm doing something else.

This...I'm not into watching sports at all, but, the winter Olympics are great.

Nope, just like I didn't care about the super bowl. It doesn't affect my life who wins or loses.

I'd rather watch one of the neighbourhood moggies washing it's bum than any of that Olympic crap. Once non amateurs were allowed to compete it became just another bloated shit fest of corporate greed.

No, I don't give a crap about them. It is just a farce of competition for corporations to make oodls of money and countries to spend oodles to get to be host.

It is a waste and only further sucks in people to the ridiculousness of sports -- except for a local venue. Which I mean sports are good and great fun but when viewership and sponsorship gets consolidated at the top, it loses its appeal and value.

I remember going to local baseballs games supporting adults men and women out having fun, communicating and exercising - now that is mostly unheard of - as people just sit around the TV, eating--getting fat, and cheer as if they had some stake in the game - the only stake is that their money is sucked into big corporation's marketing and salaries for players.

The same holds true for college sports but to a little bit smaller degree -- however, just think how much more balanced and healthy communities would be if the people so absorbed with college, say, football - actually got out and supported local high school teams or kids or adult baseball games and didn't daydream about a team or a university which they never went to and which would spit on them if they walked the campus. People are so sucked into a daydream of something they really aren't a part of -- it is sad -- they are manipulated and either don't know it or don't care.

Just think of the millions of dollars people spend on NFL jerseys, cups, etc. It is sad.
