We do not have long. Sagittarius A* is believed to contain a super massive black hole and Cloud G2 is going to be closest to this black hole around March to April 2014. This date could easily change, as it has changed a number of times over the past year, but I wouldn't expect the change to be more than four weeks either side. We will see a huge companion within the G2 cloud the size of Jupiter. Earth will change for ever once the energy blast reaches our planet. The gravity wave will reach earth in one day, and the cosmic rays would reach 70 hours later. There is going to be an extremely large amount of energy that will change our shifts in consciousness. NASA are all over this and they have known for years. A couple of years ago there was a closed door meeting with congress, all were warned.

We will know if such a scenario is going to occur by closely monitoring the G2 cloud. As the cloud nears pericenter, if we see it appear to divide and spawn off a subcloud that begins rapidly accelerating directly toward the Galactic core, we will know this worst case scenario is about to occur. This subcloud will contain within it the binary companion star or jovian planet that has been tidally stripped off from the parent star. At this point we will have about two months before its inevitable impact on the core, at which point an exceedingly bright gamma ray burst and cosmic ray spike will be detected on Earth, far greater than any we have seen until now. The superwave will have arrived at our doorstep, possibly heralded by earthquakes occurring a few days before.

The shock wave generated by that encounter may create X-rays and radio waves that could be detected by telescopes. If the cloud contains a star at its center, as some astronomers have proposed, it may produce a stronger shock and generate more light, said Sera Markoff of the University of Amsterdam.

But most of the potential fireworks are at least a year away, perhaps decades. That is how long it may take material torn from G2 to spiral inward through the black hole’s feeding disk, coming 100 times closer to the hole than it is now. At that location, gas becomes hot enough to radiate at high intensity before it is swallowed.
