How can you be atheist and work a 9 to 5?

i would think a believer would be spending all his days serving god not the machine so he could get into heaven.

They still have to make a living, it's not a matter of faith.

It takes a better person to refrain from "living it up" even when there is no Sky Daddy to smack them if they are bad than those who are refraining only because they want to attain some supposed promise of spiritual immortality.

We understand that our personal life is but a sliver of light between the two eternities and it will end when it ends. In the meantime, we will try to leave this place "cleaner" (in many senses) than we found it for those who remain behind and for those yet to be born.

I'm more concerned about what that says about you. Is that really how you would behave if you didn't have 'death insurance'? Of course, there's no guarantee you'll get a return on that, lest you behave.
