actually you know, looking more closely at it, at FIRST, it looks like a volcanic plume, rising up, surrounded by a grey border (pyroclastic flows?) which suddenly violently explodes?

isn't this basically what would happen during a super eruption? first the plume rises, huge pyroclastic flows spreading out for hundreds of miles all around, then once the caldera collapses, a huge final eruption, and the entire continent covered with grey ash?
