Breaking: Bitcoin Mt. Gox disappears in blow to virtual currency! EVERYTHING is GONE!!! | |
Father of Cryptocurrency User ID: 41993714 Belgium 02/25/2014 01:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I personally made 4 million dollars from mining bitcoins with a 10,000$ mining rig. Cash in hand. I never keep my coins on an exchange any longer than needed to exchange them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17950446 It's an exchange not a storage facility. You are more rich then me, who did invent it. I always told the developers not to take advantage of the early process. As many times I did destroy my own stack. But not everybody is like me. Once I did ask to help a friend of me, and they did make jokes about him, a great guy. Well that's the world. Full of sharks. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54018832 I have no sympathy for people who speculate on inherently worthless things, be it bankers or bitcoiners. They are the cause of the current broken economic system. Bankers are worse but bitcoiners aren't innocent. I only have sympathy for those who create real values. Not for the leeches of the system who monetize the trust between humans. They have no ethics. +1 |

Esoteric Morgan ...in awe of many things User ID: 26943919 United States 02/25/2014 01:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Now on Yahoo News Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19226302 "Mt. Gox, once the world's biggest bitcoin exchange, looked to have essentially disappeared on Tuesday, with its website down, its founder unaccounted for and a Tokyo office empty bar a handful of protesters saying they had lost money investing in the virtual currency." [link to news.yahoo.com (secure)] [link to www.coindesk.com] Oo, I think I am in love! Antonis Polemitis has quite a sharp wit...right up my alley. And this spokesperson "Mike Smith" has quite a wide range of talents, although I can't help but think he's affecting some sort of psyop. -------- Great read! Reminds me a little of P.J. O'Rourke. Too bad Satoshi Nakamoto did not cover the topic of human greed in his famous 'white paper'. It does not matter how clever the bitcoin protocol is - greedy humans will always find a way to exploit the system. Hopefully, those invested in bitcoin's future will finally understand that you need transparency when dealing with large sums of money if you want to keep people honest. Hm ? The human greed was expected. As it was expected there would be financial bubbles and speculation on the coin. This is the process of a new birth. With pain and suffer. The cryptocurrency protocol (bitcoin is only ONE implementation) is not only about money. You can use the system to vote and much more. The algorithm will be used for many things. You do talk about transparency. But You can track the road of bitcoins... It IS transparant. But of course, the weak link is the wallet and companies who do provide online wallets. If people do use local wallets (on a linux computer or specific hardware) there will be not such problems at all. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 51386064 Portugal 02/25/2014 01:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You guys don't have much of a clue, do you? I had a single ATI 7970 videocard on my gaming PC. When I noticed the crypto craze, I bought 2 more. That rig got me steady 20€ up to good 50€ days, in BTC. With the BTC crash, it's only 15€. Electricity cost is 2 ~3 €/day. The cards paid themselves in a month. Now I could dump them used for around 80% of the price I paid for. Now, how am I losing money on Bitcoin?? |

In my eyes it was a clear but advanced pyramide scam, those who created the scam made a few million USD when it was easy to mine. There was not a slightest doubt in my mind that this was a smart and complicated s-c-a-m. |

That's why I am member of the board of the foundation. But only by PGP key and I did not use my coins at all. I could live very wealthy. I did choose to do not. So people could be inspired, to find out, money is not the biggest God of Earth. Many people of Cyberphunk could be extremely rich, but they did choose to fight for the values of humankind. I do thank them to take my example. |

Cryptocurrency is not an asset You can buy and sell with fiat money in the long term. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 26491065 Sweden 02/25/2014 01:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This was posted in the thread about silver the other day: "For obvious reasons my last post and indeed this thread was my first also. Suffice to say I am not in Austria either. A single day 5.12% increase is not due to a sudden increase in demand but due to an unexpected breaking of those managing big money who were shorting silver and had to cover their shorts at short notice. Those on trading desks that had become relaxed about shorting PMs as method to screw over small investors who had bought PMs as security against their games are about to learn a valuable lesson. People have been watching. JPMorgan think they can manipulate freely and that's easy to do in a small market like silver. It's time they were taken on a ride and learned that small unexpected capital inflows can cause serious damage to their over leveraged positions. Where this capital has suddenly come from is for them to guess and those who know to laugh on. We do not forgive. Best wishes to all ordinary working people. It's time the banking staff involved in market manipulation and sociopathic futures traders high on cocaine took their long overdue payback. We do not forget. When you messed with our people do you think we would leave you to keep leading millions into poverty and destroying nations so you could buy a sports car and abuse prostitutes? You should have expected us. We now own you and your drug dealing child abusing criminal friends. Perhaps you should think about all the ordinary well meaning people just trying to get buy you destroyed via bac. Our advise is that you evil scumbags you take this opportunity to kill yourselves before the knock on the door. This pain won't stop for you. Some will be hunted like rats forever. You want to murder our people at will. We decided three years ago to destroy you. You are our enemies and we hate you with a burning passion. Satoshi Nakamoto" Thread: SILVERTARDS, WE RIDE! Wow the stupidity in this thread is mind boggling. Crypto is the future and if people can't see the opportunity they have right now they will be crying a river of tears in a few years. The problem right now theft due to dumbass' not keeping there coin in a safe place, it's no different than a bank getting robbed its just that btc is in its infancy still so it has a bigger impact on the price. At some point in the future you will be using btc weather you like it or not. |

These people lost because they are losers who put their trust in a company. Yeah and what if later today they say bitcoin is trash ? What then ? It is only as safe as they want it to be and if you can not see , that this is a massive scam , just waiting for the trap to spring then I feel bad for you. Your electronic money is about as good the micro sd card you have it stored on , you could literally go to retrieve that sd card and let go a static shock erasing it , just like they can push the enter key on one computer erasing any hope of you people collecting on the scam you invested in . Somebody is just mad they did not get 10k worth in at $30/coin. relax bro, it will never get stuffed back into the box, the secret of cyber money creation is out.. now anybody can become the next Rothschild. Btc can fail.. big deal, the seed that will one day free mankind has been spread to the winds. Eventually, it will germinate... the money masters know this, hence the crackdown. Pay them no mind. Think of it like the atomic bomb.. you cant just un-invent it, and eventually everybody will want their own. Clearly you understand neither money nor atomic bombs. |
