Re: What the heck is the "muss" in "No fuss no muss?"
its "must", some sort of necessity in german. 1dunno1
"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title."

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

No I remember my university German but this is in English! It's not a common phrase anymore. Late 70s early 80s jargon. :D

Google, bro.

"'Muss' is something like 'mess' in this case. The whole thing is an idiom meaning something like "no messiness, emotional drama, excessive effort, etc." It's often used for meals that are quick and easy to prepare, outfits that look chic but which don't take long to put on and which are easy to care for, and other things like that."

Re: What the heck is the "muss" in "No fuss no muss?"
It's like "mess", as someone mentioned.

However, to call it "mess" would give some INTENTion to it and end up manifesting that which was hoped to be avoided altogether, so to avoid all this, one intentionally mis-spells the word and no intent is given.

No fuss, no muss. EVER.
