MSNBC: Spike Lee: "Gingerfication" of Black Neighborhoods???
I never usually watch MSNBC, but someone else turned it on and they were discussing Spike Lees comments about whites moving into black neighborhoods. They were calling it "gingerfication". Basically they were complaining that now they were picking up the garbage and housing prices were going up. One lady commented that her friends couldn't live in the "gingerfied" neighborhood in Seattle as it was too expensive????

How is this not racist? They are even using a slur against readheads. They were actually defending Spike Lee not wanting whites to move in NY neighborhoods. WTF?? I am sure the blacks that owned a house that went up in value are not complaining.

I now remember why I don't watch MSNBC

Gentrification, Gentrified.

"the buying and renovation of houses and stores in deteriorated urban neighborhoods by upper- or middle-income families or individuals, thus improving property values but often displacing low-income families and small businesses."

Please tell me MSNBC was really saying "gingerfied" and "gingerfication" because that would just be epic.

Yeah, people like him further deepen race relations instead of looking at the positive reasons. He's pissed because of integrated neighborhoods, but would have a cow if it was the other way around.

Spike Lee is on the list of people that has a lot to lose when race relations improve. The more its proven whitie is no longer holding the black man down Spike becomes more irrelevant. Its why Herman Cain, or Dr Ben Carson, Or Bill Cosby are attacked with such fervor from that side.

If the word gets out that it isn't whitey's fault anymore - its on the black man to stop fucking himself over and own his success or failure - guys like spike are out of business.

they'd rather let things in the hood stink and rot than participate in making it better.

Re: MSNBC: Spike Lee: "Gingerfication" of Black Neighborhoods???
Spike Lee is too stupid to understand what is going on. No long time white U.S. citizen would go into a ghetto and try to clean it up. U.S. citizens only know how to run from that crap.

Spike Lee needs to understand that not all immigrants flooding into the U.S. are mexicans. Many are from East Europe and Russia. Yes they are white but they are tough and American Ghettos are nothing to them as they probably left a much tougher neighborhood in their home country.

They come here with not much money and can only afford to live in a ghetto. They start cleaning it up and next thing you know is is nice enough for Asians to move in and finally the long time white americans.
