If you will recall, the Kremlin had plans on the table and believed that a limited nuclear exchange was possible and "win-able".

I personally don't see it. Since a first strike would cause us to fly 30-50% of our birds to Russia.

Putin will never stand for NATO along Russia's borders. Putin's invasion of Cremea was expected. The CIA briefed Mitt Romney that Putin would invade the Ukraine during the presidential campaign but no one would listen to him. At that time Putin had been positioning himself in American media as sort of a friend.

President Obama and all the leaders of the Euro Union knew this was coming and they also knew they would do nothing to stop Putin. The Ukraine and other surrounding countries do not have the military might to take Russian forces on.

Why CNN is blowing this story out of all purportion is anyone's guess. It's all theater! The Russian Navy Destroyer docked in the port of Havana, Cuba is theater because Putin would never fire on the United States.
