I am no where prepared for such devastation. I am a bit nuke sensitive at the moment. The risk of nuclear war just stepped up a bit in my opinion. A suitcase nuke would destroy my hometown... small place... Its a scary thought... but... why let fear hold us down? _______________________ |

YouAreDreaming User ID: 34048691 Canada 03/03/2014 01:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Trying the 3D nuke option now, pretty crazy. Just a big black dot viewable from space. Quoting: YouAreDreaming I wanted to try that, but i dont have the plugin... but i reckon its pretty cool. It's not as animated as it could be, but does generate a 3D nuclear mesh in animated mode and floods out with a black burst radius. If we had the technology at that level I bet there will be nuclear simulators that show the full simulation of buldings et all going poof, it's quite possible to transform that into a game like simulation. I'm a bit on edge due to a really messed up waking vision of nuclear bombs going off in January which is something so extremely rare for me it spooked me out, now all this new tension with Russia... just hoping it was something I ate. |

Quoting: Dr. Acula to see if your bug out area is at a "safe" distance from the bigger cities... etc If it happens though, do you think people would even have time to bug out? Just how fast would a nuclear war be if it went full-scale? Over in a matter of hours or less? |

I really wish I had the means to bug out when Fukushima happened, on the West Coast Canada and have wanted to leave but it's too damn complicated. Now we have that Hanford damn near bursting, if so that'll leave a mess. Lots of doom lately. |

Terrain and weather will influence the thermal pulse and mach stem. If one should go off there is what's called the rule of 7s. For every multiple of 7 there is a 10 fold decrease in the fallout example: At a given location H 100 rads per hour H+7 10 rads per hour H+49 1 rad per hour Stay under ground or behind the thickest stone cement you can find. Be aware the fallout will deposit on roofs. Rules when dealing with radiation time distance, and shielding. |

Quoting: Dr. Acula Have you ever asked your self that question? Well there is a neat site that calculates how said damage would occur... So you will know... what exactly to expect... should WW3 go hot... You click the link below... enter zipcode or city name... Enter the desired Kiloton of the nuke... or select a preset for historical and current nukes.... You can select if its an air burst or surface burst... You can select fallout to determine how far spread the fallout will be... and you can select casualties... and it uses statistics for your area to determine that estimated outcome... Then click 'detonate' it will display the info... and give you a text analysis of what damage you can expect... etc... [link to www.nuclearsecrecy.com] not as nice as the above site... below another nuke map for you to play with. [link to www.carloslabs.com] This is some interesting stuff Dr. Acula. Your post is certainly timely with all of the sabre (nuke) rattling going on over the Ukraine. I think most suburban areas would be toast unless they were far enough away from the blast center and the yield was not too large in kilotons. However, there is matter of the nuclear waste afterwards. A lot of people would be glowing in the dark if they were still alive. But we also are what we think". “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views." -William F. Buckley Jr. |

I have lived here for years and didnt realize how it looks, until one half drunken morning while having my first cup of coffee...a few years back... it was a double take lol I had been all over that hill in the past... but... after seeing that shape stick out... i went all over it... and looked at it with new eyes... was quite depressing hahaha While it does have that shape... and it can been seen anytime of year... the snow on it highlights the shape even more. _______________________ |
