If Russia dumps the dollar, it would be wise for other nations holding lots of US dollars to dump as well. Otherwise they will take a hit when the Russian fall out comes back and sinks the dollar further.


And then all those middle east nations that tried to sell oil with gold instead of dollars will have a superpower to protect them.

Iraq, Libya both tried to sell oil with gold. In every instance this is tried, the US bombs the fuck out of them.



If the oil trade stops using US dollars, the US economy will crumble over night. Just like that.


The US recognizes such an economical move as an attack. An attack with similar consequences as a nuclear attack.

So the US will not take this lightly.

Obama Orders Sanctions Against Ukraine Agitators

This sanction move makes no sense.

It's one thing to make a threat against someone NOT PLAYING YOUR GAME, and quite another to actually 'do it', meaning, blindly moving forward despite the fact that the greater portion of the world knows you started the whole mess in the first place.

But, these sanctions just might open the door for Putin to drop the petrodollar...with other countries ready to follow.

As of yesterday I still didn't quite see how the new global economy might get off the ground smoothly, even if forced into immediate use...


...but this may change everything.

For months many of us have been following all the chatter about SDR's and plans to abandon of the U.S. dollar as the world's major reserve currency in favor of a new system.

Yet, even though such a move would greatly affect our economy here in the United States, the fact remains that WE Americans have not been made aware of any of this by our elected officials, or the media...except for the news stories written largely by financial gurus, who need to follow such things.

In a country as large as ours, with hundreds of representatives who are supposedly law-bound to inform their constituents about those important things we should be aware of, we've heard nothing. And THIS particular 'important thing' has been in the works for years.

In response to these sanctions, if Russia were to bypass the use -of the U.S. Dollar, thus sending our economy into a freefall, what are we to think? Are we to think that this is Russia's fault, or...
