Moses felt guilt.

Moses had allot to think about when he found out he enslaved his own people and he also killed a man. When God revealed himself to him the old man Moses used to be was completely dead. Actually, the Hebrews were already in slavery before Moses was born, but yes, later, in zeal for his people, he did murder a man We can assume he gave some pretty nasty "Orders" during his time as prince. Like a soldier who is only taking orders. And this story rings the old saying true. Blood is thicker then water.
