Unless you duplicate the experiments you read about, such as those by Pasteur and others, unless you go through the act of replicating those experiments, then you are taking the findings of those experiments on FAITH.

In this case, the scientists are the oracles and their "scientific" texts are their holy cannon and you follow them and their words faithfully.
