Police stop 70-year-old man for expired tags, shoot him for holding a cane!!!

Once upon a time, a police officer was here to protect and serve, they also used to be considered heroes.


One only has to watch a few episodes of Rescue 911 to see how far our police forces have fallen.

(i remember the one where the cop lifted the front of a car off of train tracks because a baby was stuck in the car, he just barely got the car off and could feel the train brush his pants)

Oh my God! I feel so sorry for everyone that was in this situation! Do you know if the man survived? I feel the cop was wrong in acting so quickly but I feel the cop was truly grieved over what happened. Everyone there was truly a victim! I pray the man is ok! This is so sad!

The problem is our 'police officers' took this as a job, and as such they fully expect to come home alive to their family.


That is the problem, when you sign up to be a peace officer, you should expect there to always be a chance you may not come home and that a judgement call require you to sacrifice yourself for another (i.e a hero)


This guy will likely get a pat on the back and a citation for bravery, if he had hesitated just 8 seconds he could have seen what the dude was reaching for, if you think its a gun, open your door and duck for crying out loud but dont ice someone because your out there thinking of yourself instead of everyone else, there was two people in that vehicle and he opened wild fire at it.

I believe this is an article on the incident. Thankfully the cop is a lousy shot, the man was only hit once and is expected to recover.

this slays me, so basically he could not wait the 5 or 6 seconds to calmly I.D what the dude was reaching for, in the amount of time it took him to finally wing the dude, the perp would have iced him.

Why can they not put ballastic armor inside the car door so he could simply duck, wait and observe? and of course he only gets leave for attempted murder. We need to abolish all traffic laws if its truly this dangerous for an officer to write a citation for an expired tag without icing the offender
