Is journalism dead? | |

Apparently if a journalist wants to "earn" their credibility they MUST go through every Ring of Hell, or whatever nonsense and go through decades worth of intense and frequent hellish experiences. And that's JUST to be slightly considered for a better parking spot. Sorry if that seems childish, OP. It's just that I've seen online for many years now that so many journalists have traded their very souls or at least all sense of ethics and crediblity for a stable paycheck and job security. Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker. A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us." -- St. Anthony The Great Social Credit Loser here. |

anonanon User ID: 36715343 United States 03/14/2014 04:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is definitely getting to geezerdom and senility. Started when actual newspapers started to fold because of the economics of the business. Today, the New York Times which used to be one of the most respected newspapers in the world is now nothing more than a liberal rag. There is no real balance in the news anymore. Differences of opinion are mocked and the writers or commentators are called idiots or worse. Journalism used to mean providing the facts and separating fact pieces from opinion pieces. No longer. Add to that the fact that people do not do any in-depth reading - most get their news off the TV or the internet which is unreliable at best. Then we have a whole generation who think that Comedy Central actually provides news instead of comedy. So yes, it is pretty dead. |
