Listen To Hummingbirds Talking!

Humming birds do not know fear.

When I lived in Jamaica ('84-'86), there was this old lady who had been feeding hummingbirds by hand for years. People would visit her place from all over the world to get a chance to feed them. They would sit still in a chair and hold up a feeder made from tiny liquor bottles filled with sugar water. A hole was made in the cap for the hummingbirds to dip into. If was so cool to have then come and eat rite in your lap. They were free birds living in the forest all around there. My son got to do it when he was six.

Hummingbirds poop on your car. One built a nest on a pipe in my parking space over the rear window. I didn't have the heart to destroy it. I compromised by putting newspaper down to catch it.

Birds shit everywhere, they are nothing but flying shit machines...their metabolism from mouth to asshole is seven minutes or less for most species.

The hummers arrive here in April for their season with us. I can't wait for them to arrive. They are so beautiful and so much enjoyment.

It think it is time for me to go ahead and get out all the hummingbird feeders I have and get at least one or two set up for the "early birds". LOL

I just plant flowering natives bushes for them, I don't expect them to entertain me. Lovely but you can't make nature into entertainment, everything is not entertainment.

I've only put up a hummer feeder for two or three years, and planted in a pot that type of fuschia which they loved. Cape fuschia I think? .... I love those little warrior creatures so much

This vid I'm seeing shows that they feed at night?

Is that true?
