When I started my current job I was the oldest person in the group. I had short hair because frankly long hair sometimes looks stupid on older women, plus my sister who's ALWAYS had short hair talked me into it.

Well I felt hostility from the younger people. Eventually I looked in the mirror one day and realized I had a strong resemblance to Hillary Clinton -- who, of course, all young people despise.

So I grew my hair long again, and now everyone is friendly to me.

I did let my husband cut my hair once too, he barely cut anything so it was pointless. He also tells me I'm lucky he lets me go out to check the mail, the woman across the street isn't allowed to. He also tells me my face isn't the kind that needs make-up so I don't wear that for him as well, he say's it's not ugly enough for make-up.

Some women look GREAT with short hair, but... you have to have a pretty feminine face, otherwise, yeah, they end up looking like dudes or boys.

I died it red before that so I got it closer to my natural color. Now I just do it to cover grey.

BTW, I love my husband being in control, I've had to control everything until I met him and I feel peacefully retired. Plus when he makes all the decisions, I'm never wrong so it's a win win for me.

He just wants a different style so he can mess around with a different girl without cheating on his wife.

Yes, many men have some thing about long hair. I'm on the other end of this problem. I have very long hair. Touching my butt long hair. Costs me $200 every 8 weeks for highlights and lowlights and products are outrageously expensive. Every time I go to get my hair done, here comes the " what are you Going to do? You're not getting it cut right? You're not thinking about changing it right?" I live in a prison with it. My husband freaks out if I even mention getting it cut. I have always known most men love long hair. I get approached by random men continuously commenting on my hair. Good for you if you can hold true to what you want. Do it while you can, once you're locked in, it's so much harder to make a change.

God forbid if you ever got sick and had to have your head shaved. He wouldn't stand by you.

He is very immature to criticize your hair. He must have low self esteem and takes it out on you. You must have noticed this before marriage. LOL. "Dick" isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Many times women are left disappointed because most men are too selfish to give a woman true pleasure. I doubt that your hair style is the only part of your life that he at least attempts to control.

The man is just sad, I thought he was to love you not your hair. Makes me wonder if your worth anything to him at all. Since he prefers your hair longer, and your issue with having it short is having to maintain and style it, then perhaps him helping you is in order. Let him help select your "hair products", and also hand him the hair brush every single night to assist. There is no need for him to downgrade you EVER! Hope by him being a part of your hair ritual will assist.
