Tell that to the Germans who tried to take Stalingrad. The Russians had a 2.5 to 1 advantage in numbers, though many of them were untrained civilians, not soldiers, and a lot of them were not armed.
The Germans came in after dropping thousands of tons of bombs and they had heavy artillery, tanks and mortars. They had all sorts of field guns and the infantry had the most modern weaponry of the day, light/medium/heavy machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, mortars, and even rocket launchers.
Meanwhile, the majority of the Russians who were armed carried WWI era, 30 year old Mosin Nagant bolt guns. A few had Fedorov select fire rifles, but ammo was a problem for those guns. The rest had to scavenge weapons from the dead.

We have a far greater numbers advantage and are a hell of a lot better arms than the Russians had. We probably have more like a 100 to 1 advantage though they do have a HUGE advantage in hardware. But keep in mind there are a LOT of us who are just as well trained in tactics and the knowledge of that same hardware. If they decided to turn their hardware on us, like the Russians, one of our primary goals would be to capture as much of their advantage as possible to use against them.

I would take 10 people who can shoot armed with bolt action hunting rifles and sufficient ammo over 1 GI with an assault rifle. Even the most well trained soldiers like a 12 man special forces group or a 14-16 man SEAL platoon would be screwed against 100 shooters defending their families. And some of those defenders will likely have had the exact same training earlier in life....

BTW, the Germans were not successful taking Stalingrad, and it was a turning point in the war. Don't underestimate we the people, judging by the current ammo situation (specifically .22LR) .gov certainly isn't.

I used to work for one of the suppliers and I worked in one of the departments that manufactured the ammo. The customer name is on the PO, the production work orders, and sometimes we had specific part numbers just for ammo allocated for the gov. We manufactured lots of ammo for the FBI/DHS/SS/etc. We manufactured 15mil rounds of ammo per week (not all for the gov obviously). This was just one department at one ammo manufacturer.

The ammo was made and delivered.

And no, I don't have copies and I don't think the .gov or the ammo manufacturers are going to release copies of the invoices to you.

So, it never happened... in your world.

BTW - domestic law enforcement is not going to fight any foreign power in WWIII. Their mission is completely different. They have already listed who their enemy is in their training documents.

This ammo shortage has been going on since late 2008. I used to work for the parent company of Federal and we employees got discounted ammunition - so I put in my order, the usual common calibers plus some oddball stuff in case the common calibers were out.

The shipment came in. Very little 5.56, 9mm or anything like that. My English and Soviet cartridges came through, however.

Domestic production is somewhere around 17 Billion rounds per year... over five years that is 85 Billion rounds manufactured and we are in an ammo shortage!

That's 280 rounds for every man, woman and child in America. Including the illegal Mexicans.

Our enemies wish. Most of us in this country have been shooting guns since kinder garden if you count BB guns. Any foreiners or domestic enemies who seek war with the American people on our home turf will most likely get taken down with a single shot. I've personally shot squirls in the head while they were jumping from tree to tree 50 yards away with a twenty two. Even shot a flying dove out of the sky just for kicks when they were in season once. And I was the least of the shooters of the group I often hunted with.

Yes, I have been saying that for a long time. The scare tactics and government pressure is just to heighten the public tension. This heightening of public tension is just pushing people closer to the “fight or flight” threshold. The lower the tolerance to the final trigger force, the faster the response will be to that force.

When an enemy force lands on the shores, the public will be so close to the breaking point that that invading army will be greeted by a mass of people that are our for blood. They won’t care who’s blood. They will just want blood.

That is the primary thing that military recruits have to overcome. The mental hurdle to get them to the point they are ready to fight. Once they are ready to fight with their entire heart, the rest is easy. They are just doing the same thing to the entire US population. They are getting us into the mindset to fight.

For the tactic to be most effective, we have to be to the point that we are already ready to take up arms before the actual war even starts. The government will make it’s final push to get us mad enough, to the point we are ready to start shooting right before they think the invasion will happen.

When war starts the enemy will be within the United States. Since the DHS is responsible for activity in the US. That means the DHS is the ones to arm as the last line of defense against such an invasion.

It’s like where they said they were cutting the number of operational military vehicles in the wind down after Iraq and Afghanistan. What did they do with them? They didn’t destroy them, or sell them to other countries. Where did they move those vehicles to? The domestic police forces, and the DHS. Basically they stationed them inside the US. So, in reality we didn’t take any vehicles out of service, we just repainted them and put them in other places.

The place they put them is right where they need to be if they are to be used in repelling an invasion force.

We haven’t wound down our military presence, we have just rearranged it, and hid it in plain sight.


They can technically say the military is smaller, but there is the same number of heavily armored vehicles available to the government forces as there ever have. They are just hiding in the cities and streets of us cities. This time the vehicles won’t be heading to the war zone. They are waiting for the war zone to come to them.

I would say that the word about a possible future invasion was known about decades ago. That would explain the stupid AWB that slick willy put in place. It was pointless because you knew it would sunset. And it just started the buying frenzy. And there has just been successive waves of actions that have almost intentionally stoked paranoia to drive the gun hording to heights never seen before in this history of the earth. Everyone that even knows what a gun is, has one by now.

Yes, the US is just preparing, and bracing for the attack. They know it’s coming. All of the rest is just “keeping up appearances”

And that endless menagerie of prepper shows on TV indicate to me that it’s finally coming to the head. It’s the last piece of the puzzle to get the population into “that mode of thinking” You got to get a person accustomed to thinking in that context. You make them want to go out to shoot guns, and try things themselves. Same as having a soldier stick a knife into a sandbag. It’s an exercise to build up mental and mussel memory.

Will getting caught up in preper shows, and target shooting shows make you a one man army ready to take on the chi-coms by your self?

But you will be in a far better position than if you hadn’t heard, or thought about any of that information at all before the war starts. And it will make the general population a far harder nut to crack for the invading force.

i find it ironic that this majorly anti-gun administration is signing anti-gun legislation in "fast and furious" fashion and turning gun owners into felons overnight in Connecticut on the one hand while simultaneously delivering battle rifles to the mexican drug cartels and buy up every bullet in sight with the other hand.

Too bad NOBODY in the military has made the decision to PROTECT American citizens from the tyrant.

They bought both. And 7.62x51NATO, and 7.62x39, and .50BMG, and .40S&W, and .45ACP too.

Mostly though, they bought 5.56mm and .40cal. Definitely for domestic use, considering more than 90% of pistols chambered for .40S&W are in the US.
