Yes, I was there a few years ago but I recall them being in the flat areas, that one looks to be on a slope, then again maybe that too is normal.

Watch carefully there are four of them that are used over and over.

Don't get out much do you? The bison in the park encounter sometimes thousands of cars per day. Yeah, they'd figure out they have less chance of ending up a hood ornament by staying out of the way

I've been to Yellowstone a couple of times. The place is packed with all sorts of wildlife. The most prominent animal is the Buffalo. There are vast herds of them. I can imagine that a great number of these rather large animals wonder out of the park on a regular basis. They seem to be rather mellow creatures, but it is not something you would want hanging out in your back yard.

Sometimes they walk around in pairs (right through camp grounds with people there), but seems they like to stay in big groups in open meadows. There is one location that had what appeared to be many thousands of happily grazing away-on both trips.

You can tell the young from the old at a great distance, by the color. There are a good number of young in the herds.

I tried both beeffalow and buffalo streaks and burgers--both quite tasty. It is common to eat that stuff up there.
