ALERT! Yellowstone Buffalo Running for Their Lives!

Pulling from my 15 years of motion graphics and compositing experience, I have to say that this is most assuredly CGI. The shadows aren't right. Just looking at the poster frame before even playing the video looks awfully "fakey". And...nothing else, such as the bushes or orange posts are casting shadows. An "A" for effort, but there are some amateurish giveaways here...

Yes either left over footage or... viral video for a new movie is my guess.

Yep, they seem to be floating and shadows dont match with the lighting of the world.

I'm calling B.S.D.( Bull Shit Doom ) on this. I just googled " Yellowstone buffaloes on roads" , seems the search led me to see that this is a usual occurrence, and people are warned to perhaps need to share the road with them.

"Bison (American Buffalo) can weigh up to 2,000 lbs and can sprint or stampede at speeds around 30 – 40 mph. Bison can also jump 6 feet straight up in the air, over fences. It did feel not right, and the first question that came to mind was "is it fake?"

I dismissed it as a fake because I thought why spend this much time for something so insignificant.

Movie clip is a good theory.

Seems a bit staged.They come running down from the left as if something is scaring them.Yet we cant see if anything is up there.Also even if I was in a car by myself and saw this I would say out loud "What the hell" etc and not sit there in dead silence,also that strange ticking sound like a counter of some type.Something is off about the video.Looks like movie material..Why not a word being spoken

Very easy to tell its cgi. Go to 41 sec mark and notice no shadow from the road marker, but shadow from buffalo.

Looked really fake anyway, that's just the proof.

Speaking from industry experience - somebody thought this would be a great showcase of their CGI capabilities and hoped this would go viral. Viewed in that light, it isn't surprising to me at all that somebody would invest a significant amount of time to create this. A halfway decent first effort, but whomever created this still has a ways to go before they would ever be considered for hiring by ILM or Pixar. :)

I see what you guys are saying and I suppose the video could very well be fake. It was not my original video, I only used it in connection with the article on my site. I apologize if I somehow implied the vid was mine but if so I didn't mean to. I watched the video a bunch and I don't know...i guess just use discernment.

They are traumatized seeing their babies die infront of them this is what post traumatic stress looks like.

CGI? I keep doing pause un pause.. trying to look at it on per frame. Dont know.. looks like CGI. My uncle can make one better than this and better than NASA's.

Its CGI, because the Buffalo's are the only thing casting a shadow... The orange poles don't cast a shadow on the road. the bushes don't cast a shadow. Its all fake.

UH, it's because the bison are ON THE ROAD and thus, cast a shadow. The shrubs are OFF the road.
