they INSTINCTIVELY know the road gives them a faster route out of there.

if they weren't fleeing something, they'd have stayed on the scrubland feeding as they went.

Its real.. the sun is high in the sky and the shadows are short. The road is much higher then the shoulders, I don't see why anyone would expect the shrubs to cast a shadow on the road. Not to mention how much easier it is to pick out a shadow on a road then in vegetation.

Is this important or a sign of doom, not likely.

I'm calling B.S.D.( Bull Shit Doom ) on this. I just googled " Yellowstone buffaloes on roads" , seems the search led me to see that this is a usual occurrence, and people are warned to perhaps need to share the road with them.
