The LORD hears our prayers, may HIS will be done. If you break my wings, I will just find a cloud and learn to fly again. The Lord will catch you when you fall or teach you to fly! May the footprints I leave lead you to BELIEVE. |
beeches User ID: 28167778 United States 03/20/2014 06:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you my friends. I am so torn up right now, I don't know if I can stop crying. I am not a drinker, but I think I have a bottle of Kahlua in the downstairs cabinet, that has my name on it. :( I think a nice tall glass of Kahlua and milk with lots of ice just might be replacing my tea, real soon. Quoting: tiger1 Go for whatever gets you through, I know you are in a terrible moment right now. Right now, prayers are being sent from me to Our Lord God for Marian, your mother. Her name is the name of the mother of Jesus. No one knows when this kind of illness will strike them or someone close to them. Any of us could be the one facing the diagnosis or the one planning how to cope. So ongoing prayers from me to God about your mother. Please let us know what she decides to do. At her age, the myeloma may be less aggressive, I don't know. Find out what you can about how her age might affect prognosis with and without chemotherapy. Years ago, an elderly person I knew had chemo. Had a terrible time. But he is still alive 15 years later with no lasting side effects. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45518329 So often, it feels when it rains, it pours. I am sorry to hear about your brother. You did not ask for opinions, but I do say I agree with your feelings that chemo is going to be too rough on her. I respect that you are respecting her decision, but if there is a way to persuade her to not go through with chemo, please do so. Again, thoughts of healing, love and comfort to your mom and you and your family. I hate for anyone to have to go through this. I lost both mom and dad, way too young to cancer. Hang in there! My brother is going to need help too, and there is just me. I don't know what I am going to do. He does have a good friend who is going to take him for the surgery. His friends wife is a nurses aid, and I am sure she will pitch in to help my brother. This is going to be so rough, with my brother out of action, and my mothers cancer. My Dad has been gone for 25 years. He never lived long enough to see most of his grandchildren. I am glad my mother got to see all of her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

My middle daughter Elizabeth, who is the closest to her of all the grandchildren, and is absolutely floored by this, was named after her. Will pray for her and ask my mom to as well. All my friends used to say she has a direct line upstairs. The more prayers, the better ! Thank you ! Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 46747744 United States 03/20/2014 06:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've issues with my 90 year old mom. However I don't have a brother who could help, instead I have a brother and sister who keep robbing her and emptying her house every time she is in the hospital or rehab. I live too far away and my own health keeps me from helping her. Also have another sister literally on her death bed right now, hospice is daily. There comes a time when you think they are blessed to leave this world naturally instead of hanging on for what is coming. |

However if it makes you feel better and you believe it can or will somehow help, you keep praying till the cows come home. Anonymous Coward User ID: 47508667 United States 03/20/2014 07:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She has led a very long life, far longer than most, but it will have meant nothing if she leaves this world without Jesus Christ. WHO IS JESUS? JOHN 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. WHERE IS JESUS NOW? 1 JOHN 5 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. WHAT DOES GOD THE FATHER SAY ABOUT HIS SON? HEBREWS 1 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Jesus Christ sits right this very minute, NEXT TO God the Father. He is glorified in Heaven. He is God Almighty, Seek Him before it is eternally too late. |
ceawaves User ID: 55262303 United States 03/20/2014 07:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My mother has been diagnosed with myeloma. She has to go back to the doctors next week to find out what stage, and what treatment options are available. My older brother is handling her doctors at this point, but he is going in the hospital for a hip replacement on April 8th, and will be out of action for a while.I will have to take over at that time. Quoting: tiger1 My mother is 91 years old, has congestive heart failure, and is on oxygen. She only weighs 78 pounds. IMO,she needs to do alternatives, as I believe the chemo will kill her a lot sooner than the cancer. It is up to her, as to what she wants to do. She is quite competent, and can make her own choices. I ask for prayers from you all. This horrible news is on top of other bad family news we have got today. My daughters are devastated over this.I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone. I'm so sorry.. it's hard to deal with our parents being or getting sick..Prayers for you an your family.. A family member was diagnosed with this (skin cancer?) year or so ago.. The doctor gave her huge dosages of vitamin D Like 12 thousand milligram a day or more, was real surprised with i saw that it was a prescription for vitamin D in that large of a dose.. just something thought i could pass on to you.. |
