Years ago, an elderly person I knew had chemo. Had a terrible time. But he is still alive 15 years later with no lasting side effects. My mother is already weak, and only 78 pounds. I don't think she can handle the chemo. As a cancer of the blood-building cells, myeloma will cause weakness. Find a practitioner you trust to guide her through the choices she or you will have to make. We will support you with our prayers. No one should ever underestimate the power of prayer. She is too old and too small to handle that. Its pure radiation, that radiation is going to beat her down harder then the cancer would! Look into drinking baking soda water, do your own research! You'll find out what will help! :) make her organic vegi purees to drink everyday make sure you include kale Do your own research, you'll find what to do. My older brother is handling her doctors at this point, but he is going in the hospital for a hip replacement on April 8th, and will be out of action for a while.I will have to take over at that time. Quoting: tiger1 My mother is 91 years old, has congestive heart failure, and is on oxygen. She only weighs 78 pounds. IMO,she needs to do alternatives, as I believe the chemo will kill her a lot sooner than the cancer.It is up to her, as to what she wants to do. She is quite competent, and can make her own choices. I ask for prayers from you all. This horrible news is on top of other bad family news we have got today. My daughters are devastated over this.I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone. Heavenly Father, We approach your throne of mercy for our sister here. You know her mothers condition, and you know the pain that the entire family is feeling at the thought of loosing her now and in this terrible way. We ask you Lord for a little more time for this special lady, you know how difficult it is to say goodbye to a loved one, you now the pain, the loss and the sorrow. Please Lord, grant some more time for this woman and her family. We ask that the cancer be gone in Jesus's name. We ask for a healing and restoration in Jesus's name. We ask that the hip replacement go smoothly and healing quickly in Jesus's name. Let your will be done Lord in her life, let your name be magnified and glorified. Instead of looking for alternatives for her, you should look into make her life at this point as enjoyable as possible. No alternatives will help her at this point. And chemo will be the worst choice. Realize that your mother has lived a long and fulfilling life. Longer than most of the people. She is old and taking her immune system into account, there is not much you can do with anything at this point. As I said, make her life as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. She does not have long. Read the Tibetan Book of the Dead. |

Be careful if someone besides her is given power to make medical decisions. Don't ever sign a DNR. That basically, gives them the right to withhold all medical treatment and starve and dehydrate them to death while giving them massive amounts of pain meds. They usually, die within three days, Pallative care as well as hospice does this to terminally ill patients. There are threads on here about hospice everyone should read. You are in my prayers. I hope whatever time she left is peaceful and she is coherent enough to enjoy her family. Hoping for the best for your mother. |
