Prayers for you and mom. It's so difficult for us when mom is not doing well. I'm an RN and always wondered why families were having a hard time accepting their elderly parents' sickness and death....until my 91 year old mom was dying. It was devastating.

Let her go, and once she's gone, (I'll bet she's ready), you will realize she lived a good life, and that she's in a better place. She's lucky to have you. Take care of your brother. He's probably her favorite (the boys are). lol

I'm so sorry for your heartache, Tiger. I'll keep your sweet Mom in my prayers. I'm an elderly caregiver, and my Mom is aging, and has also been through cancer. I understand what your concerns are, and my heart goes out to you. God Bless!

Take heart my friend. My dad was in the hospital for a failing heart. His heart stopped and 9 times had to be resuscitated. The doctors told my mother that they couln't keep doing that because it was cooking his heart. They said that he would never leave the hospital, so she relented and signed the order not to resuscitated again, but my dad and god had other ideas. He walked out of that hospital, and we had him for another year before he finally left us.

Nowadays they can do so much more than say ten, fifteen years ago. Your mom is still with you and even though at high age, go from there. Find strenght and positive thoughts in all the moments you laughed and cried together and go from there.

I wrote this poem many years ago, maybe it can be of any comfort and give you and your family some peace of mind in the difficult times to come. Just never abandon hope.

Light across the Sea

Sometimes your life just crashes

Father God, thank you for pouring out your love and injecting yourself into this situation. I rebuke this cancer in the Name of Jesus and ask for healing for this mom and the brother who needs hip surgery. Thank you for giving the person who posted this prayer request strength to care for her family members. Thank you for leading this family to the right doctors and natural options. I pray for peace that surpasses understanding to cover this family....and for providing what they need in this difficult time.

You are in our prayers. I hate this world. We all long for the Heavenly Kingdom that knows no tears and no more strife. While we are here we must suffer through the pain of living with and loving those that must perish. What a wretched place my sin has made.

May our LORD richly bless the final era of a great woman. She has been instrumental in training up a prayer warrior and saint. I pray for peace towards you all and may He come soon!

prayers for you and your family. It is never easy to face terminal illness, your mother is blessed to have such a caring daughter and grandchildren. My mother lost her life to lung cancer at the age of 70. I tried to convince her not to do chemo knowing she did not have the strength to endure it. Sadly she went through with it, and her quality of life plummeted and she was unable to even function until she passed. It is not worth any extra time it gives you if your quality of life is so bad. God Bless you and your mother. She has lived a very long life and is very lucky for that. I would recommend spending as much time as you can celebrating the life she has lived, sharing memories and reminiscing with your children so they can share in her wonderful life.
